NUFC Transfer Rumours

Delap looks to me like he hasn’t got that next level skill set and touch that you would expect from a striker (hopefully) playing regularly in Europe.
Lots of effort and good physicality though.

Reminds me of a Craig Bellamy type player. Without the off the scale cuntishness.

Bellamy had transformational pace which scared the shit out of opposition defenses. That in turn allowed our other players like Shearer to do their thing. Does Delap have that?

Probably not. Similar high press, all action style though. Not afraid to throw himself about either. That’s what reminds me of him. Granted it’s not like looking in a mirror style wise, just elements of his game.

Trafford / Chevalier

Hujisen / Tapsoba / Diomande / Thiaw

Angel Gomes / Anguissa (both free agents)

Alikouche / Mbeumo (1st choice RW)

Dibling / Roony Bardhaji (young potential RW)

David / Delap

One from each line please

I’m not taking this Delap talk seriously, I can’t see us spending tens of millions on a forward unless they’re also a top RW.

At 30m I can, but the price means he will have offers from other clubs which he fins more attractive.

Delap needs to choose his next club very carefully. If he goes somewhere like Manure or Chelsea, that could ruin his career beyond repair.

He should understand that someone like Eddie will make him the very best that he can be. He also gets to play alongside and learn from one of the very best in Alexander Isak. It's a no-brainer if I was him.

That's 100% an impartial view

Reminds me of tevez. Low centre of gravity, strong, hard working.

I think Delap is class. Didn’t like him flopping at the weekend, needs to drop that from his game but he’s a very well rounded centre forward. No idea how we’d use him though so not that desperate to sign him

Looks like he played a lot on the right at Hull...

In games like yesterday where we have loads of the ball. Don't really need that extra CM, then you can have Delap occupying CBs/runs, with Isak playing off him in more space / finding the ball, with us knowing there's still an option in the box. Going to find more games as we move forward where we are giving more of the ball, so there's going to be many times we need to change approach. What let us down it felt last season being rigid to the 4-3-3, than when we tried something in a 4-2-3-1 with Gordon it didn't work. Having a fast CB who can sweep up counters is essential part of this too.

Wilson / Isak worked well as an option previously, not had that possibility all season due to Wilson falling off a cliff edge.

I don’t think he’s got a soft touch if you know what I mean. Powerful, energetic, as you said - great attitude, reads the game well and hits the ball hard.
Looks like what I imagine a good German striker would look like [emoji38]

Good fit for Villa I reckon.
Apart from Isak we lack finesse in the final 3rd. Don’t think Delap would solve that on his own.

Tevez and Bellamy? What on earth are you both on? He’s a completely different type of striker / footballer / athlete to both. [emoji38]

Tbf, he'll probably fancy his chances of replacing Hojlund or Jackson far more than Isak.
