As with all of this when it comes to older players is it BDB or trips money or is it 30/40m why you not getting a young player from europe money.

£50m plus probably. And he’d probably not even start. 
 

We’ve basically got a starting 3 and need numbers. Spending £50m plus on a midfielder probably isn’t priority in this window given we need two strikers and a starting centre back.

We kept the same transfer list for 2-3 seasons. So now we're flapping.

Best way to think of Mcginn is that, clearly he isn't going to come in and start, but he is a giant upgrade on Longstaff in terms of first cab off the rank when we need to make changes in the second half.

He can cover other positions too. He'd easily start 20 or so across all comps and get a lot of 20-30 minute sub appearances.

How hard is it to go on wikipedia, go to all the leagues in Europe and see who the top scorers were last season? I do it when I’m bored at work all the time.
