So it looks like it could be

Dubravka ➡️ Ramsdale

Kelly ➡️ Thiaw

Longstaff ➡️ Ramsey

Almiron ➡️ Elanga

Wilson ➡️ Wissa

I think it's fair to say that's a canny upgrade, squad is better for it

Just the Isak situation to resolve too

Totally going with this.

Our business does seem strange mind. Went for a striker/no 10 in Joao Pedro and were then interested in El Khannouss in that attacking midfield role which we seem to have abandoned for a similar player to Willock. Unless of course it being a CL season we push the boat out and get El Khannouss too.

Reckon we’re just targeting players we like and whom we think we can get for a good deal, regardless of position.

Assuming the obvious starting 11 with only Elanga the new starter and Isak is reintegrated (stay with me)

1. Ramsdale

2. Botman

3. Thiaw

4. Hall

5. Miley

6. Ramsey

7. Murphy

8. Barnes
9. Wissa

that’s fucking absurd bench like, just interchange who you know we need to interchange.

PSR aside, we might be too close, but I dont think picking up another creative midfielder/versatile player like Bilal El Khannouss is out of the question. We have been running a player or two down of a stacked squad for a year or two.

Especially if there is a young player with potential that doesnt count against the squad limit thats available at a good price. I think we will take the opportunity. Is BEK aged out now he is 21?

You put it this way, once Wissa comes in and we sort out the Isak situation however it gets sorted, there's not even that much scope to improve the bench.

Of course there will be injuries, but which out of those nine players can we afford to leave out of the matchday squad entirely when everyone is fit?

It’s worth remembering, that say if Isak stays for this season, so long as we sell him before the end of June then his sale will be applied to this season as well.

Thats definitely another more power to us situation. Although we wouldnt want to let it run out til then and get bent over a barrell for a fee more than now.

The squad is far better off with Thiaw, Elanga, Ramsdale, Ramsay and Wissa. Just need to get the Isak situation sorted. Would love another technical midfielder.

Finding one who also has the pace, power and stamina to be in our midfield is rare and expensive.  If we get another midfielder (on top of Ramsey) I think we'll be very lucky.

I'd have like to see us go for Joao Gomes from Wolves. Not amazing at any one thing but a very good ball winner and could fill in anywhere in that midfield 3 if he had to.

100% although the buying team may know we are short on PSR then and lead to a panic sell. In this case we'd be selling a top talent so those rules may not apply. He's on contract so we could use alternatives if needed as leverage.

I don't want a striker on loan, especially not Toney. Isak can fuck off and we can get someone in capable of leading the line in tandem with Wissa.

I'd certainly consider El Khannouss on loan with an option to buy though, especially if that gives us a bit left over to bring in a decent up and coming LB to help Hall out.

Nah man he’s just a kid trying to find his way in the world and his agent, who’s supposed to be a shepard of sorts, is giving him insanely bad advice.

He’ll be our top scorer this season.
