NUFC Transfer Rumours

We can't possibly sanction the exit of 3 key players. I know the player power argument but we'll have to just explain the best we can that they are under contract and we need them to contribute to next season. That's what they all signed up for and almost nobody can say they really performed this year.

I'm not saying that we would necessarily want all three to leave, but I think a lot depends on the level of overhaul the muckety mucks think we need. Hell, we don't even know if Eddie will be back. Point is, we may not have a whole lot of choice. If Gordon has a good World Cup and can fetch £80M or more (plus he'll be an insufferable pout if he feels forced to stay here). Tonali should fetch the same or even more. Not sure what Livramento's value would be. Freeing up cash isn't the worst thing if you're truly rebuilding and rethinking the approach to be more possession and less hair-on-fire.

I don't know what to believe any more, but the "word" is that Tonali's agent is hinting that we have given him the same handshake agreement we gave Isak - namely that if we miss Europe we'll facilitate him leaving. Also, depending on who you believe, both Tonali and Tino are garnering interest from Man City. If we could package either of them for a deal to get Trafford and say £50M cash, I'd love to pencil him in as our starting keeper for the next decade. I'm convinced our keepers cost us at least 10-12 points in the table this season. Also hearing Robin Risser as a potential answer in goal. He'd be a little cheaper.

I like Tino, but i think he's way more replaceable than Hall is.

Yeah - Kayode at Brentford might cost £40m but is young and has a long throw on him. Could be the answer

In Robin Risser Lens  - Out Ramsdale 6

In Honest Ahanor Atalanta - Out Schar

In Givairo Read Feyernoord - Out Livaremento

In Lamine Camara Monaco - Out Tonali

In Kees Smit AZ - Out Joe Willock

In Mane Wolves - Out Murphy

In Said El Mala Cologne

If we sell Woltemade or Wissa then a more accomplished striker as well. We’d be hoovering up some of the best young talent in Europe with the above and it would lower the age of squad.

This window needs to be revolutionary and whether Howe is the correct manager for the rebuild needed is open to debate.

I think there’s value in selling Murphy as we need a right sided forward and Elanga is going nowhere unfortunately.

Know nothing about him but im in as he has the same last name as me

Not a rumour but I wonder if we should buy one of these worldie veteran forwards that could be available at the end of the season

I really do hope that we don’t rigidly stick to a model of only buying potential to keep for a few seasons and make a profit. A Wellbeck, pains me to say it, a Xhaka, and a Trippier mark II, in the squad this season would have improved performances significantly.

Agreed, I'm worried about spending 40m on Trafford too, feels like we are paying for the finished product rather than potential.

Don't think Pep would have signed Trafford if he thought he had reached his potential already. Think Donnaruma being available a few weeks later was too good not to miss.

That being said I also agree Trafford would feel a tad underwhelming

Or, look at Spurs, absolutely no leadership there whatsoever and it could see them relegated.

We've already got plenty of "sellable" assets with presumably a few more to come so there's absolutely nothing wrong with potentially taking a hit on a player further on in their career.

I phrased that poorly - I mean the price at 40m would be what we would pay when he hits his full potential. How many keepers, especially English have gone on to actually hit their potential?

Of the best keepers in the league, most of them didn't have a tonne of potential at young age. Allison, Raya, Martinez all didn't break through until 26/27. There are some keepers like Courtois, Donnarumma and Neuer who were elite from 21 or so but they were levels above Trafford at the same age.

We were linked with him a few years ago.

Yup.. Could have had him for £11m. Doubt he's worth that kind of fee (release)

That's not the fee.

I like this list but Smit is out of our reach. He’s been linked with Real Madrid and recently said he likes countries with nice weather.

Im putting it out there and no rumours but I think we will go for Tresoldi. Scoring for fun in Belgium league and Germany U21.

Played really well with Wolt last year in U21.

I think he has a lot of potential and would be relatively cheap.

I’ll nominate Kees Smit - first time I have watched him (playing in double pivot today) - he is fantastic on the ball - I get KDB vibes (looks and runs like him too)

Van Hecke another canny player

Think there were some rumours from a reliable Dutch journo last summer that we were interested in Van Hecke. Only has one year left on his contract as of summer so would be the right time to strike if the interest is still there.

If three star players go then it means we won’t have had a choice. We won’t be actively trying to flog them, clubs will come for them and the players will decide they’re off. It’s not about what we want, it’s just a real possibility.

We cant just let them fly out at free will. Its a bad bad look for the club.

Would both be excellent signings.

The fuck Real Madrid want Kees Smit for?

They already got Endrick and Arda Guler.

These elite clubs hoovering up all the best talent whilst the rest feed on scraps is sickening. And theyve made the rules such that nobody else is able to challenge them.
