What are you even talking about?

My post was about INCOME for this year being accounted for in THIS YEARS books. Absolutely nothing else.....

Im talking about our ability to spend and that we are probably at our limit for FFP even including the CL money.

New Mark Douglas article...

Any January bids for Bruno will be rejected.

Philips wants the move.

We're looking at new deals for Miley and Botman.

We're very confident Ashworth stays.

Right, but what’s the point of replacing him with someone not as good?

Even from a training perspective, you want the levels to be as high as possible surely?

We have 25 senior squad places and 1 is filled with someone who's played 4 minutes in games he's needed to be registered for (CL & PL). He doesn't even need to be replaced but not having him frees up a squad player position. It's been crippling wasting 2 PL squad slots on him and Ritchie (and Tonali for obvious reasons) when we've had such an injury crisis. I put it down to FFP forcing it, but surely they go this summer.

How can we reject bids for Bruno if he has a release clause?

I think someone hinted that the release clause is not necessarily money related, but could be something else, eg: Dream Club

But you would be replacing him, even if it was for a player in a different position, he’d be taking his squad place. And if that player improves the squad overall, that’s absolutely fine.

But just sacking him off and his role (however limited that is) being taken up by someone not as good, seems to have very little benefit, other than perhaps saving a relatively minor amount in wages.

Agreed. What’s the point in keeping Dummett to play 2 games a season?

Unless they are on academy equivalent wages, Dummett and co. should be moved on.

I thought Krafth might be able to contribute during the injury crisis but Howe rarely played him. If Howe isn’t going to play him, let him go.

Krafth is coming back from a season-ending injury ffs. It's obvious why he has been eased back in.

That and he got a nasty gash in leg when playing Chelsea in the cup.

That’ll be Barca and/or Madrid, the two clubs that no player says no to.

- Starts in summer

- Only applies to certain clubs

- They aren’t meeting release clause

I don't understand this "write off the season" talk.

We are 5 points off 6th. All but 1 of the clubs above us is in Europe.

IMO I expect us to finish above West Ham who are 5 points ahead in 6th. And Brighton who are 2 points ahead in 7th. We play both at home and I expect both to make deep runs in the Europa where we should catch them slipping.

Self expectation management is not great around here.

Has that been confirmed or just conjecture? The first two points I mean

Also a release clause tends to have to be paid in one lump sum, if a club is offering instalments then there is no obligation to accept as far as I am aware

Luke Edwards reckons we've had conversations about signing Henderson on loan.

I can't imagine those conversations were very long, if they happened at all
