NUFC Transfer Rumours

True but it’s never been as slow as it is now. Absolutely zero sense of urgency.

It is slow but if delap or Pedro chose us and signed it wouldn’t be as big an issue. The problem is 4 or 5 targets have either decided to go elsewhere or the likes of Liverpool & Man Utd have used they’d financial muscle. Trafford by all accounts was done then Burnley moved the goal posts. It’s been a really unfortunate summer but as someone on here said it’s more difficult when your targets are wanted by the elite clubs

Not saying the clock is ticking, but at the same time it is. Was very calm and relaxed going into this window. Still is, ST and CB will be signed, and we cant ignore the CM situation either. Massive weeks coming up..

 so you’re saying that the clock is ticking. I do agree.

Loads of people here seem desperate to live out their FM dreams in real life. Honestly, I’d rather we go for someone who’s actually proven themselves instead of rolling the dice on some “imaginative” pick.

Yeah, we’d all love to find the next Messi for 8m from Argentinian 2nd league, but the truth is we’ve got to compete at the top now  or fall further behind. That means every signing needs to be as close to a sure thing as possible.

It sucks that we’ve missed out on some of our main targets to clubs with bigger pulling power, and yeah, it feels unfair- but they can’t buy everyone. We just need to keep doing what got us to the dance in the first place and trust the process.

You can be optimistic all will be solved in the remaining weeks of the window, but questions still remain as to why the first half of the window has been absolute garbage for the most part.

A few weeks ago I said all was not well behind the scenes, and got piled in on. Same thing happened at the same point of last summer's window. Just because the club is in a good place in many areas, doesn't mean we aren't messing up in others.

Not at the point yet, but we are getting close. With the speed we are working under, we need every week that is left of the window.

Another one who self victimizes. Just stop with this martyrdom garbage on a forum, man.

Losing out on players happen where players choose the other club, but we haven’t even really had any bids accepted have we? We are aiming high and I like that, but we also need to be prepared to pay high if we aim high. That’s not to say that we shouldn’t be cautious as well money wise.

Striker, CB and CM is the minimum. Still think we can manage those three though, plenty of time left.

I'm not a victim. Just tired of saying true things and getting rinsed for it. Nice try though.

What questions are to be answered? I think we know the answers. We took some risks by going for players we would struggle to get it the cartel we're in for them. Turns out the cartel was in for them.

I would say that given the info, this is a bigger issue. Not a huge stretch to imagine that there might be a little overcompensation the other way because of the supposed Saudi tax.

I have little confidence that rest of the window will click. Like what’s the difference? It’s the same gaps up stairs, we’re now working down list of targets where the appeal may not be as solid. Then it’s a heavy reliance that the players further down we’ve done a lot of groundwork to date and not starting that now.

We’ve seen with Guehi last summer, that it was one or nothing, as others moved on for reasonable fees. The tweets today from local journos suggest GK situation is done. Won’t be signing one. Then it’s now down to CB, CM, ST. At which point, DCL can’t be far off because it’s a direct club to player deal, so easier to get done. If that move happens, then it says a lot.

Feels Etitike was a move after Pedro because it was someone we had work done on previously, rather than it being someone new.

You’re totally self victimizing. We get this garbage all the time from other posters. You put out an opinion. Others may call it shit.

fFS we live in societies that just constantly martyr themselves over every little damn thing.

I think it's overly simplistic to explain our poor window away by blaming it on the cartel. There are reasons to suspect we're not operating well in and of ourselves. Obviously I agree the cartel are shafting us to a decent degree.

Still plenty time so no need to panic but it does feel like it's going to only be two more signings rather than the 4 we probably need, see where we are nearer end of window.

We've went in for players all the other top teams were wanting, we really need to go back to getting players like Bruno Tonali Isak out of the blue and players with potential just outside the level of player the ones we are competing with go for.

Four weeks til season kicks off and important we have two more bodies in by then, we were never going to buy players in June with PSR but all the talk of having no psr constraints now we'd have thought we'd of had at least one more player through the door by nearly the end of July

Agree, Im just starting to worry a little bit with the ST quality we will get. Not a lot of good options out there.
