NUFC Transfer Rumours

Not having anyone to play striker, either as the main or second striker qualifies as an abject failure no matter what else has happened. We’ve already dropped 5 points because of it. That pattern will play out at least until January. Isak staying is massively problematic in its own right:

He’s has no pre-season and will talk a while to integrate

He won’t give close to 100%

His fellow teammates don’t trust him

The fans will be against him

We don’t have a striker man, Isak isn’t going to perform the role for us effectively

You can't disagree with this. Striker and right wing were the priorities from the start. Isak made the striker situation even more urgent. Going into a PL and Cl season without a single recognised senior striker is nothing short of failure

I fail to see how even the most optimistic of fans can think that the window is a success if we end it with our only senior striker being a bloke who currently doesn't want to play for us under any circumstances.

It's already a failure that we started the season that way. Doesn't matter how hard the club have tried to rectify it, failing to do so makes it an objectively bad window.

Failure to sign a striker is negligent imo. And I'm happy with the business we've done away from the whole farce.

Even if Isak wasn't an enormous wanker, we'd still need a striker imo with the extra games we have this season. He isn't able to play in all of the league and extra matches we have; his injury record at the club has shown that. Plus last season when Wilson was clearly finished, having Wilson as the back up striker cost us in games where we weren't able to mix things up from the bench or when Isak wasn't 100%. Two reasons why we need(ed) at least one striker this window regardless of the Isak situation.

And now with it, it's cost us 5 points from 6 and it's down to the striker shaped hole we have in the squad that are willing to play for the club. Getting one and not is the difference between the window being an 8/10 to a 3/10 for me.

I keep hearing that repeated on here but the evidence suggests otherwise to me. He doesn’t have the attributes, the finishing ability or the football IQ. His goal record prior to Man U is not impressive, he must have some genius PR is all I can say.

he was underwhelming when he arrived and has just gotten worse and worse.

He is just a bairn though he still needs developed, how many at that age have the football iq or have clinical finishing in there locker?

It would be a massive failure and it baffles me who anyone can say anything different.

Stop with the bedwetting, window's open for another *checks notes* 3 days.

Appreciate this sounds like the most typical ITK bollocks ever - but just passing it on (literally no incentive to make this up, not trying to get twitter followers like the usual clowns...)
Very good mate of mine is a taxi driver picked up someone at director level from the club a few days ago and was trying to see if he could get anything out of him.
He was adamant we'd have a striker signed by the end of the window, though didn't give any names or indication who other than 'he was unsure if the fans would be happy with him'. (This was a few days ago, so may have been JSL?)
He also said Isak would be here at the end of the window and would play again.

This was on Sunday though - so may have completely went out of the window with bids being rejected and further meetings with Isak since then, but just chucking it in here with the rest of the nonsense!

I'm sure directors talk about the inner workings of their companies with taxi drivers all the time.

Woltemade only wants to go to Munich. The only ones who have been reported to be "available" at this point (and are of acceptable "quality") are Sorloth, Hojlund, and possibly Openda (for enough money). Ok Hojlund is stretching the limits of "acceptable quality".

But between Hojlund, Jamie Vardy, and nee fucker - who would you all have?
