Surely we must be getting someone when we have shown ourselves to be so desperate that we are willing to bid £60m for Strand Larsen. 

There must be some clubs out there who likes cash.

No not necessarily. It was squad building, rotation etc given he can play, as was said all the time, right across the front line  Much like Ramsey now. I don't think Eddie wants an obvious first choice XI.

Every club likes cash...thats the problem they like it too much, or realise that a pile of 20 pound notes wont score goals

JSL isn’t even that league, we’ve only been after him for about 10 days

No doubt we'll keep plugging away, but the problem we're eventually going to hit is that even the statement "at least they're a better option than Gordon and Osula" eventually becomes untrue, the lower down our list we get. I'd imagine we're not too far from that point now, from the list of players we're interested in, who are interested in us, who are also available for sale.

It is mental that it has come to this. I am at the point that i could not care less if we pay 10-15M over the going rate for a decent striker or two. Unforgivable from the club if we dont get anyone in, absolute madness.

I think that's unfair, he's been playing in a shit team with half-arsed managers/tactics. Prior to that he looked alright, under Eddie, with our pressing attack, he'd be worth a punt, especially on a loan with an option to buy.

Given Gordon has scored 1 goal as a forward, and Osula has 2, we've got a way to go like

The only signings we have made that have worked all came under Dan Ashworth from what i can recall, happy to be corrected.

Especially if we've spent half the summer chasing strikers who aren't avaiable. Even now we can probably start a conversation about Jackson, and while he's not my first choice by a long shot, at least he's a proven PL striker. Only 24 as well so there could be a case he'll get better.

Burn, Bruno, and Trippier were signed pre-Ashworth, and we were after Botman before him as well.

Bruno and Burn both came before Ashworth. 

 

Last summer is an anomaly because of the PSR nonsense and it’s far too early to judge this summer.
