Think the difference is just you have the chance to address injuries that were in the same general positions but unexpected. In October you don’t. With PSR they can’t cover every eventuality.

Frattesi is a player you don't need, he can't replace Bruno or Tonali if they're out and he can't play in a three-man midfield.

Perhaps the idea is to play him at the tip of a midfield triangle? Double pivot of Tonali and Bruno, with Frattesi as an advanced 8/false 10 behind the striker?

Something like this gives us real fluidity - 4-3-3 standard, 3-5-2 away to some of the top end teams and then 4-2-3-1 when trying to break down a low block. Would be very hard to drill all of those in a season like this with so few gaps in fixtures though.

For me he can only play in a 4-4-2, 3-5-2 (Inter) or in a 4-2-3-1... he doesn't have the skills to be a number 10.

Frattesi played as a #8 in a 4-3-3 at Sassuolo. Lower level than for a CL club admittedly.

It wasn't a surprise, especially for us AC Milan fans; we knew the Premier League was perfect for him.

His first year with us was very bad, he was almost scared on the pitch (coming from Brescia to Milano isn't easy). In the second year he suddenly exploded and played exactly like he's doing with you now. Here in Italy, there was a debate about who was better, him or Barella, but the comparison is silly because they are two players with very different characteristics.

If Isak going gives us budget to upgrade the midfield options we should do it. We can send Miley or preferably Willock out on loan if the numbers are too many.
