Personally I wouldn't mind us getting rid of Murphy and Barnes and get two younger ones in.

Why sell two of the only performing players we have?

I think selling Gordon is more likely to be replaced with a young LW like El Mala.

I do think we will get a new RW too this summer, one who is left footed. I reckon we will reignite our interest in Allan from Palmerias who we were interested in before. Also makes sense given Wilsons MO

Because I feel that this summer is the last chance to get really good money for Barnes. I think we have to be smart sellers. I don't think Murphy or Elanga is good enough as 1st choices going forward, and I can't see us selling Elanga now. I don't rate him but I can still see him becoming better (massive loss to sell now).

I can't agree with selling our best players for the sake of selling them. If we had a squad rich with talent maybe, but we have a lot of bums in this year's squad - Elanga being one of the biggest ones.

Playing devils advocate for a second if someone offered 50m in the summer for barnes this summer who will be 29 at the end of this calendar year do you gamble on selling him or risk keeping him and him not performing as well sticking around a year or 2 longer and him going eventually for say that 15/20m bracket.

Appreciate putting you on the spot and high levels of what iffery going on.

Issue is the "bums" or less successful impactful players won't attract the interest or bids. In an ideal world we chose who to sell and when but worse case we need  to do well to sell at peak and guess when that is miggy purple season the wilson season he got something like 18 goals.

I wouldn't want us to sell the likes of Bruno, Hall, Sandro and so on. Personally when it comes to Barnes it's a combination of his age, reliance on pace as well as him being quite limited as a player in general play. Love Barnes and he just produces numbers, there's no doubt about that. I just think we need to smart sellers. I agree on Elanga, but it would be foolish to sell him now. We have to wheel and deal to try and strengthen. No matter what way you put it I think our front three is quite limited.

The issue is most of the bums are players we signed in the summer so its been completely self inflicted. Its put us in a position where we can't afford to sell the good players we actually have. Not to mention Gordon is probably gone in the summer anyway so that would be us down 1 wide player anyway.

I think the wider issue of player trading and picking the right time to sell is an art form/skill we need to develop quickly.

The summer complicates matters as will limit what we do and we need to keep a hold of performers to build something but the point remains we do need to let players go which have profit left in them to reinvest.

You have to pray that the talent spotting is less like last summer.

Agree it would be the right time to sell Barnes. As we've seen with Wissa 29ish is a good age to sell players who are reliant on their pace.

Lamine Camara's name keeps coming up. Would be great to have another DM option.

Douglas says he'll likely be targeted as Willock makes his way out.

Aye he was highly regarded in the summer and I wished we went for him then tbh, done loads of YouTube scouting on him and looks quality

Osula loaned/sold, Willock sold, and Lamine Camara and Mateus Mane in would be quality business

People have been trying to sell Barnes since the minute he came in the door. So many more to go before him.

They can get to fuck. The amount of memorable moments Barnesinho has given us merits a life contract. West Ham, Leeds, Wolves, Barca to name a few.

Never heard of him but if we don't sign him, Mala and Alvarez this summer it's another failed window for me.

We'll sign McNeil, McGinn & Solanke.

You forgot James Garner. Nailed on.

Garner ticks all the boxes, coming off his best season, price at a premium, PL experience.
