olliemort
Really good tonight I thought, looked more aggressive. I’d start him ahead of Gordon at the moment
Checko
Key assist tonight.
Pilko
Was good tonight I thought. I'd keep him in for Monday and introduce AG from the bench if he's ready.
Mikky
He would benefit from us having a left footed RW
Elliottman
4 minutes ago, SUPERTOON said: For me, yes. Gordon a much better player and fit for us. Gordon wasn’t in great form prior to his ban, Barnes has been excellent and contributed to 3 wins on the bounce, he keeps his place for me.
SUPERTOON
Just now, Elliottman said: Gordon wasn’t in great form prior to his ban, Barnes has been excellent and contributed to 3 wins on the bounce, he keeps his place for me. Nice problem to have either way, nice to have a bench option as well.
David Edgar
Great assist today for the winner.
Thumbheed
He's such an intelligentplayer - always seems to release the ball at the right time. Don't think it's a coinicident Tino has looked fantastic on that side whilst playing alongside Barnes. I'd noticed this too with Hall when he'd come on late in games, the 3 of them seemed to link up so well (Joe, Barnes and Hall) and Barnes always seemed at the centre of it. Maybe a lesson for Gordon as whilst individually he's far better he does have a tendency to hold on a little too long at times. pedro111
So pleased for him how he's pulled it all round lately without even scoring a screamer!, keep it up!
Smal
really, really good last night and in the final. He’s been heavily involved in both matches which is usually the major criticism of his game. His passing and carrying were top notch. Probably motm for me. Edited April 3 by Smal
buzza
He was seething with Isak twice last night for not passing to him at the right moment. Played well on the right for a bit, could be a useful murphy swap out when gordon comes back ??
54
Was rightly seething after the disallowed goal. First time I've seen that sort of emotion from him, was good to see.
duo
Had a tap in if Isak had released the ball quicker. Makes intelligent runs and always wants the ball
joeyt
Reckon he'll be dropped for Gordon for the Leicester game?
Sibierski
Nah, start as why disrupt a sides that’s winning. Howe has shown in past he’ll keep things same if results are coming. Probably needs a goal, as Gordon will come on 55/60 min mark with a point to prove.
Dan Gleebals
9 minutes ago, joeyt said: Reckon he'll be dropped for Gordon for the Leicester game? Poor from Howe if he does drop barnes. Gordon only has himself to blame. Barnes has played well, so you cannot reward that with putting him back on the bench. Gordon has to earn it, most likeky as a sub. joeyt
He usually plays Gordon every game, all game though
Optimistic Nut
16 hours ago, Elliottman said: Played like he was pissed off tonight, I liked it, I liked it a lot. I liked that he wasn't afraid to give Isak a bollocking for that disallowed goal.
andycap
1 hour ago, joeyt said: Reckon he'll be dropped for Gordon for the Leicester game? Sends out the wrong message mind dropping him when he's playing well. Also makes gordon know he will never be dropped whatever happens which will lead to poor performances. TRon
He's looked a top player in the last few games tbh. I had him pegged as just a finisher, but he's really clever when he's in possession, and Gordon coming back in shouldn't be a formality.
mouldy_uk
No brainier, gotta start Barnes - playing reasonably well - against his old club - eases Gordon back in - tells Gordon he’s got to earn his spot back
David Edgar
Dropping Barnes would be criminal mismanagement.
Checko
Think Howe likes to play players against their old clubs and with BArnes playing well & Gordon coming back from injury I'd definitely start Barnes personally.
Dokko
Never been his biggest fan, but I'd hate to see him dropped right now. Deserves to have his place in the team, especially as Gordon was playing poorly for weeks before his suspension. Wouldn't even start Gordon over Murphy. He let himself down, and needs to earn it back from the bench.
