Our midfield hounding, Tonali nicking it away, Bruno threading a lovely ball back into Tonali who has the vision to pick out Barnes. Then Barnes just going prime R9 with the power and speed, step over and low left foot finish. Textbook ‘Simple’ quick football done well is a thing of sheer beauty. Loved him leathering one in with his left, he can generate power and score with either foot, definition of efficiency and class this lad, so glad for him he's finally getting a run in the team. Kanj Posted Thursday at 00:44 Share Posted Thursday at 00:44 This is the player Eddie signed. His run in this team since Gordon’s red has been absolutely brilliant. Standing up and stepping up.

Optimistic Nut Posted Thursday at 04:56 Share Posted Thursday at 04:56 (edited) Salah, Haaland, Isak & Wood are the only players with a better goals per minute this season. Lethal. Edited Thursday at 05:01 by Optimistic Nut

Gordon right next to Bruno when the cup was lifted, going ballistic. He's enjoyed it all which was great to see given he missed it. Glad someone said it, just making shit up. Gordon was absolutely loving it.

Ellis H Posted Thursday at 17:00 Share Posted Thursday at 17:00 In the league, he’s got 21 attacking returns in the equivalent of 22.6 games. Murphy-esque in his output. Gordon has 39 in 56 for context.
Pilko Posted Thursday at 17:04 Share Posted Thursday at 17:04 Soon as he got the ball on that left flank and dribbled towards the defender, you just knew he'd make a yard and blast it into the bottom pocket. He's one of the best finishers I can recall us having at the club.
Shush Posted Thursday at 17:34 Share Posted Thursday at 17:34 Can he play up top? Genuine question. I don't mean all the time, but he seems such a direct winger and incredible goal scorer it makes you wonder if he can be that Isak cover too occasionally. His goal against Man Utd showed pace, close control, tenacity, composure and a beautiful finish. Probs be slated for saying it - but it's not Colo as DM sort of stuff. Shays Given Tim Flowers Posted Thursday at 17:37 Share Posted Thursday at 17:37 For his goal last night the palace defender literally does everything right. Then he Laurent Robert's it in-off on his weaker foot. He's nigh on impossible to defend against one on one like that.

As someone who claimed he was too right sided with his feet it’s great when they deviate and work on their weaker side. OG and first Man Utd goal all coming from his left also. black_n_white Posted Thursday at 17:53 Share Posted Thursday at 17:53 No surprise really, his stats were very good for Leicester prior to him coming here. Think he got 13 goals in a season? Potentially he can get 10-15 goals for us next season.

Kept coming up with Shearer for Blackburn v Chelsea with Gullit diving in because Shearer checked a second before smashing it in and realised just now it was a Robert goal against someone where he just blooted it through the keeper. Barnes goal was way better than both. Power and accuracy unerring. Edited Thursday at 18:00 by Jonas

Geordie Ahmed
His output isn't a surprise, it's what he did at Leicester, his finishing is ridiculous On Wednesday the part of his game that I wasn't sure he had that did surprise me was his defensive work, especially when he got moved to the right. He was defending on the touchline and this despite us having the game won Also, why when we have two options in a position is there a clamour to sell one of them? Are we not allowed to have two good players in a single position? You do realise Mike Ashley has gone and that to building a squad means having options We are back in Europe for next season so there's a good chance we play 50+ games across all competitions, there's going to be plenty of opportunities for players to get games because form, injuries and suspensions are a thing
