David Edgar Posted Saturday at 18:28 Share Posted Saturday at 18:28 Our most dangerous player forced out of position again.
Aiston Posted Saturday at 18:33 Share Posted Saturday at 18:33 It's just insane we move Barnes over to the right when we bring Gordon on.
Optimistic Nut Posted Saturday at 18:36 Share Posted Saturday at 18:36 (edited) It's getting weird. Gordon has played on the right, is more natural at knocking the ball past his full-back and crossing a ball, yet we're moving Barnes over. Newcastle Fan Posted Saturday at 19:03 Share Posted Saturday at 19:03 Moving Barnes is really silly, he's been playing much better than Gordon and if anything Gordon offers similar to what Murphy does so don't see why we need to switch then.

Menace Posted Sunday at 05:48 Share Posted Sunday at 05:48 He's not effective on the right and it's absolutely shit having to accommodate Gordon when Barnes deserves his position.
duo Posted Sunday at 09:01 Share Posted Sunday at 09:01 Gordon is better than Barnes on the right so it makes sense for him to play there and leave Barnes on the left which is working so well. Basically nullifies Barnes sticking on the right and in the form he's in that makes no sense.
wyn davies Posted Sunday at 09:04 Share Posted Sunday at 09:04 So my question is , are we shifting Gordon or Barnes in the summer ? based on I believe neither will want to be backups .
nemtizz Posted Sunday at 09:07 Share Posted Sunday at 09:07 It won’t be an issue when we sign a top right winger. If we want to consistently compete every season we keep them both.
Oregon_Geordie Posted Sunday at 10:52 Share Posted Sunday at 10:52 (edited) My only issue with Barnes has been his lack of effort covering back at times. Saying that with Tino, they have dovetailed really well - he certainly has far more control and clinical end product than Gordon, so he's won me over of late. Was shocked yesterday when Murphy (who has offered a struggling Trippier very little support all game) was replaced by the energy of Gordon, who does a lot of running back. Only to be switched with Barnes. One, losing your attacking threat down the left and two, placing Barnes in front of Trippier providing even less cover. Gordon needs to play right wing when he comes on. Edited Sunday at 10:52 by Oregon_Geordie

Qualify for the CL and neither is sold. 50-60 games next season. First attacker off the bench, first midfielder off the bench, 3rd CB etc. should be first team quality. Villa brought on Ramsey, Onana, Malen and Rashford which killed us off. Full strength we only have Gordon, Trippier and Botman of that quality off the bench.
