Gordon is better than Barnes on the right so it makes sense for him to play there and leave Barnes on the left which is working so well.  Basically nullifies Barnes sticking on the right and in the form he's in that makes no sense.

My only issue with Barnes has been his lack of effort covering back at times. Saying that with Tino, they have dovetailed really well - he certainly has far more control and clinical end product than Gordon, so he's won me over of late.  Was shocked yesterday when Murphy (who has offered a struggling Trippier very little support all game) was replaced by the energy of Gordon, who does a lot of running back. Only to be switched with Barnes. One, losing your attacking threat down the left and two, placing Barnes in front of Trippier providing even less cover. Gordon needs to play right wing when he comes on.

So my question is , are we shifting Gordon or Barnes in the summer ? based on I believe neither will want to be backups .

Qualify for the CL and neither is sold.

50-60 games next season.  First attacker off the bench, first midfielder off the bench, 3rd CB etc. should be first team quality.

Villa brought on Ramsey, Onana, Malen and Rashford which killed us off.

Full strength we only have Gordon, Trippier and Botman of that quality off the bench.
