I really wanted Tielemans before he went to Villa. Early days and that, but he looked really bad. Slow and turgid.

Looks like I was wrong again :badyao:

He looked finished at Leicester last season. Bizarre signing for Villa.

Was hilarious JT constantly getting told off by the 4th official :yao:

I've a couple of queries:

  • How was Martínez not send off for his foul on Almiron?
  • Did the Ref give Tonali a yellow when he was going off? As it looked like he did and but then that would have been a second yellow?

1) judged not to be a clear chance.

2) Bruno got it. (Might be the wrong instance).

probably best he stayed on in hindsight. If they went down to 10 Villa would have sat a lot deeper.

Fuck, we took the same profile. [emoji38]  Who was first is the question.

Atmosphere in the ground was immense, the Gallowgate were unreal.

Thought Botman was low key imperious today too

Thought exactly the same about Botman. Easy to forget what a good defender he is and what a great signing he has been.

I don’t know how true this is but on nbc they were saying that Villa focused far more on tactics and shape this summer over fitness. We looked at times in mid season fitness!

That's one of those games that you remember for a long, long time. The atmosphere, Tonali's debut, Barnes getting a goal on his debut as well, the ole's, the fact that we absolutely embarrassed them with all the recent history, Emery, etc. What a fucking game man.

the benefit of being a year further down the road with Howe. We’ve got our style and tactics down, Emery will be in the same place next summer

He's looked like that for years. The man literally can't run.
