Didn’t think it was one of his better games. Thought he was poor for the first and third goal.

For the first he gets dominated in the buckle up to the shot and Beto runs past him to tap it in.

and he’s too late in getting goal side for the 3rd.

He’s had way better games.  This one he contributed to our weakness at the back.

Was weird last night when the TNT commentators spent ages praising Shaw and saying he might get back in the England team while not mentioning England’s best LB was playing on the same pitch for the other team

For me, he's the most talented, highest potential player we've signed since the takeover. Genuinely world class level potential in his position, and he's not far off that standard already at only 21 years old.

And yet I still hear about this apparent debate over who should play left back for England, with Miles Lewis-Skelly, Nico O'Reilly, even Djed Spence sometimes mentioned before Lewis Hall. I shouldn't be surprised though, it's the same people and pundits who never recognised how good Fabian Schar was and focussed instead on Botman a few years back - they're generally clueless and don't actually watch football outside of the big games despite it being literally their job.

A bit one footed for me tbh

I'll start by saying, he's absolutely brilliant, but you're right. He has so many chances to swing in a right footed cross, but never does.

His close control is so good. I honestly think he's a bit wasted at as a pure LB.

I would like to see him in a more inverted role, where he can influence our build up play more.

There's not a player out there I'd swap him for.

He's not bad on his right foot. Maybe he doesn't trust it enough, but every time he's played the ball with his right foot, he's struck it sweetly.

Darren Bent regularly champions Hall for England, he has said numerous times it should be O'Reilly and Hall in the world cup squad but you're right he's missed off the list by a lot of the others

I think it’s more so he was injured for a lot of the recent internationals.
