In Vegas for business right now so I guess I'll be watching this in the sportsbook at a casino. Not the best atmosphere but maybe I can drink enough over breakfast to make it work.

Gets forgotten, including by me until watching the highlights a few years back, how well we played that night. Far better than the 3-2 and most definitely deserved to win.

First CL away game 20years on at the site of the last CL away game.

2-2 draw and a dodgy refereeing display would be apt.

Hairs on end. That noise between Local Hero ending and the CL anthem. :smitten:

It's weird. Anyone under 30 and Champions League football for Newcastle will feel surreal, but at the same time, if you said to those over 30 that when Aaron Hughes missed that decisive penalty against Partizan that there would be no Champions League football for another 20 years, despite finishing 3rd, 6th, 2nd, 2nd, 4th and 3rd in 6 of the previous 10 seasons at the time, they'd have thought you were mad, but a lot has obviously happened in the meantime.

There was quite a bit of complacency about it back then, maybe we were a bit spoilt. Only the Barca home game was a sell out in 02/03. Even the iconic Barca match in 97 with the capacity of 36,000 was pretty easy to get tickets for.

This time round it feels different, no one is taking this for granted!

A repeat of Barca away in 2002... I wonder how many actually did lose their job / get divorced because of that?

Was there. Cost a small fortune to stay the extra day and change flights. Crazy rain and Shola notched. Feels surreal, exciting and thrilled we are back in. Can't wait for tomorrow. No nerves at all.

Who did Antwerp ? That's how I feel

Anyone think the late flight out seems a bit daft?

Newcastle’s manager is so paranoid about the Serie A club spying on his preparations that he has exploited a Uefa loophole and made a special request to train on Tyneside rather than at San Siro on Monday before flying to Italy
