It seems like he was hauled off because he let his man go on the set piece. Not sure I agree with it because he looked like one of the few players who wasn't getting rushed out of his stride. Longstaff looked far less confident, I would have took him off.

I’d very much doubt he was taken off for that alone

There is no excuse for that. People can continue to pedal the tiredness thing, but it does wash now. They’ve had almost a full week off and half of them look like they’re hungover. It’s fucking tragic to watch. One shot in 45 minutes against a championship side ffs!

Playing Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday is now "almost a full week off"

He literally changed his formation today after half an hour.

[emoji38] it mustn’t be classed as a different plan to some hey.

We are basically playing a weaker version of last season's team. None of the 5 summer signings have started today. Some of that is due to back luck in Barnes and Tonali but we are suffering from a poor transfer window.

We need someone in the middle who can put their foot on the ball and direct play, someone who isn't bullied by the opposition.

Even if we signed the cunt at half time, he'd be limping before he gets on the fucking plane

Harvey Barnes and Murphy injuries have fucked us more than anything this season. Just need the wide men to be at it for our whole system to work

Didn't think much of it at the time, but Barnes injury has been real brutal for us.. So unlucky.

Culpability for their goal, that type of thing, but he was always going off as our shape and play needed adjustments.

I can’t lie…wish it was Longstaff. Miley looked good apart from that one moment defending a corner. Totally expected from a 17 year old

Almost a week off? They played on Tuesday and Saturday ffs.

So, pretty much 4 days off. A slight exaggeration on my part, but still enough time to recover and put in a performance better than that. Some people are giving these players and the manager a very easy ride.

I think he made the tactical when he did because of that whole only allowed so many sub windows etc. He's mentioned it before.

Exactly my thinking, he would have changed at half time if not for Lascelles having to come off

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday is 3 days pal. That's less than half a week.

When was the fatigue excuse allowable? Is it somehow less valid now we've played even more games?

Put Murphy and Willock back in the squad and have the others playing at more than 60% and everything's a different story.
