Steve purchess was JTs  number 2 at Bournemouth  and there great friends. But Graham Jones will.probably step in (he was also at Bournemouth  with JT.)

It'd never even registered with me that Jones had worked under Tindall before. Makes even more sense why he seemed to slot in to Eddie's backroom staff so well.

He doesn't like being front and centre and it was great to hear the fans sing  MAD Dog we love you today. Himself  and Eddie are very different but yet 1 in the way they think and want the game to be played.

Get the feeling from press conferences and interviews that he hates being front and centre and much prefers being the wind-up merchant stood behind Eddie.

Very true he looks incredibly nervous and uncomfortable infront of the camera being interviewed but he did a sterling job today. Well done Mad Dog 👍

Out of interest, which other assistant managers have had a high profile in the game? I'd struggle to name many other assistant managers these days.

Peter Taylor with Brian Clough. Terry McDermott with Keegan.

I feel like Sammy Lee would always get a fair amount of coverage while he was joined at Allardyce's hip.

Taylor is about as big and close as it gets I reckon. Clough was nowhere near the same without him and I daresay it would be the same for Howe without Tindall.
