Unbelievable
HT: comfortable first half, deservedly ahead
andyman
Total domination. There's no fight in them, really.
andycap
Cannot remember clarke even getting a chance to run at tripps we've stifled them.
Aiston
Dominant performance so far. I do worry about our creativity though, too often just running out of ideas and hoofing it to their keeper.
HaydnNUFC
Could be 3 or 4 up. They're fucking shite. Almirón in that first half, outstanding.
Thomson Mouse
Happy with that. Win it and build from there
Lush Vlad
Total dominance. They should be down to ten. But they’re still not out of it. Second goal and I think we batter these by 3 or 4.
Hanshithispantz
Like an exhibition match so far which is what we need at the minute. Sunderland are shite
Amir_9
Second goal kills these, lets get that and get out of this dump.
Novocastrian
These are a poor team, let’s see if we can actually see out a second half for a change.
mush
Nerves have gone for me. These have got nowt
Mike
5 minutes ago, simonsays said: Yeah, he looks like he has the pace to be a decent prem player Recovery pace and eye to shepherd that Miggy chance out was impressive, tbf. Cunts have a player there.
Wandy
Big Joe best player on the pitch. Longstaff simply isn't good enough. Are our fans even there? Predictably shit, considering the numbers.
Kid Icarus
Good half, happy with how we managed that and imo should be playing against 10 men and at least another chance taken. Hopefully we can build on it because while it stays 1-0 they'll likely have at least one little spell. Joelinton has been excellent and Miggy's defensive work has been spot on. If only Longstaff could finish better. Edited January 6, 2024 by Kid Icarus
Guest reefatoon
Just now, TRon said: Sunderland lucky we aren't out of sight, Isak should be on the scoresheet with that stonewall pen. Hopefully no more chances fall for Longstaff. He fucking loves blazing chances over the bar.
Robbo2
They can't cope with us. We're playing passes you can't get away with in the prem and they don't know what to do
MrRaspberryJam
Joelinton MOTM thus far. Almiron and Trippier working well. Let’s hope the away end can suck a couple more in. not sure what Matterface and McCoist were jibbering about. Apparently it was a relevant even game (said 10 mins before we scored), despite them having zero shots and totally dominated. only way we lose now is if we take our foot off the gas. LiquidAK
Broadly happy with that. We've kept our heads, shown a lot of commitment, fighting for every ball, and our quality has been the difference. Keep calm and we stroll this, they've not had a shot. Miggy deserves credit, he's looked really sharp and his through ball for Isak was sublimely weighted. Would've lost it if his volley had gone in, so unlucky to not connect
54
So far that is as controlled and professional a performance as you could asked for. More of the same in the second please.
alexf
Utterly dominate but would be worried bout Joelinton getting injured here. He's been a stand out here and we need him going forward. Longstaff and Miley together doesn't work.
Dokko
Dominant 1st half, Sunderland 2nd best all over, however they have fight. Need to extinguish that in the 2nd half as quickly as possible or it could easily turn. Knowing us, knowing them, thryll have 2 counters and score both. We need another. joeyt
Keep feeding it to Gordon and Hume will struggle to last the 90 mins. He looks dreadful
The College Dropout
I hope we can keep our concentration and composure. We will win this comfortably if we do.
gbandit
Big Joe cuffed them from minute one. They’ll be desperate we take him off. Longstaff absolutely has to start being more clinical, at least get it on target. He’s not good enough in the rest of his game to get away with missing every half chance he gets by a significant margin. I like his defensive work a lot but it’s not enough
Bada Bing
Yep, professional is the word for it. Nothing too flash but the disparity in quality is plain to see
