But that is exactly why you need a left footed LB. So that they can provide the width when Foden drifts inside. He's only the problem because Shaw isn't available.

Am a bit late to this but the absolutely best argument there is for Foden on the left is they are counting on Shaw to be back for the knock out rounds, and shaw has a great left foot and can overlap superbly. But relying on a crock like Shaw to make the formation and tactics work is incredibly risky.

A fluid front four has to be either be extremely well drilled or almost telepathic in nature to work. A tall order for a national side.

Kane and Bellingham alternating coming deep and doing nothing. Rice never coming deep despite being right there

Pickford dictating the play from the back, bless him.

What a mess.

Maybe there is an argument that nobody should manage a team for 8 years... Players get tired of hearing the same message, managers over think their tactics and overall everything just becomes stale.

Agree - 2 tournaments extended to 3 if it’s been a “success”

At least Gordon and Palmer have no fear and love to push forward, it's mad how they've not played any part. Southgate is the absolute pits

100% agreed - two players whose in serious form and he’s blanked them both

Gallagher being the furthest forward midfielder reminds me of us playing Longstaff there. Except we don't have the luxury of having Bellingham, Foden and Cole Palmer in the squad.
