James "Shagger" Trafford: Transfer from Burnley "pretty much done" (Edwards)

Recommended Posts

It's been a fairly badly kept secret this one.

I dont even think Burnley really wanted to put up a fight over it.

I actually think from their point of view, getting 30m in for a keeper when they need funds for a survival push is smart business.

I know they've signed a young keeper but I cant help but feel Dubravka would be a good signing for them.

Distribution aside, I think Pope is class.

Apart from bedding in a long term replacement, what attributes does Trafford have to his game that will elevate the team?

He can be slightly worse in every other metric but if he has good distribution then he will do more for the team than Pope. Distribution is huge these days and can enable us to have another element to our game

“Top Shagger Trafford: deal to NUFC pretty much done”. New title? [emoji38]

It's like a desert in here, we're all thirsty for news, so you've got to give the people that little serotonin hit when they log on, even if it is from the never reliable Edwards

I still think Popes injury was not right when he come back. Seemed reluctant to dive in that shoulder so maybe he knows he would fail a medical if if he was looking to leave.

Either way time waits for no man.. be it Pope in goal or Wilson at CF.

Players have to be prepared for a sudden replacement if we are to achieve our top 4 hopes year in year out

Thought he looked comfortable on that shoulder after the cup final.

Get the feeling he had a verbal agreement with Burnley that he’d stay one more season in an attempt to get promoted and then would be able to leave without much fuss.
