I don’t mind if you want to see the positives with Mitchell, I just personally don’t see them based on his tenure with us to date. I agree that Howe could not do much about those games (talking specifically about the worst run). Which is exactly my point. Sometimes you just can't do much at all. The first team squad is shallow on top-end talent; I had hoped he could use his supposed contacts book / knowledge of less popular markets to find us a difference maker or contributor over 2 windows. Perhaps you are right and truly he is not permitted to sign anyone. Who knows. On balance I’m not convinced by him. You are equally entitled to disagree. Alberto2005
I don't understand not going for a loan unless there really is no one. I understand they can be expensive, but if it's the difference between us making the CL or not then it's easily worth it. It would mean been able to keep our best players in the summer. I'm pretty sure we'd be able to shift a fringe player before June 30. And with the increase in CL revenue we'd be in a much better position. But I don't know all the facts so who knows. Can also ask his thoughts on Howe if we lose on Saturday. Personally I’m only interested in if he and Eddie have spoken. If not then it shows a clear divide in the clubs leadership and we are obviously heading for disaster and if they have spoken then obviously they’ve been unable to agree on transfer targets and how to proceed, in which case there is no hope we’re looking at disaster in the near future. Sibierski
12 hours ago, KaKa said: Yes, this is absolutely the most important thing and it's looking good. You can really tell listening to Howe, that there seems to be a better grasp of the situation and an acceptance of a new approach to navigate PSR. I keep saying it, but between Howe, Nickson and Mitchell they are going to figure it out. Affordable talent will come in and perform well under Howe's coaching, and we'll still end up with a competitive team. The other key thing is to nail every signing who’s part of first team squad because of the tight PSR situation, which you could argue up to this point, we have done which has enabled us to challenge top 4. Like Barnes people will argue the opposite, but we’ve got use out of him when needed. Osula is the questionable one, but back end of this season and start of next will decide that one, in same way as Hall.

Now we are close… it’s worth rethinking the approach. We can’t, but I think that’s fine for this season. We are going to have to sell one or two of our big players this summer in order to buy more quality across the pitch. I’m at odds to understand how we can improve any other way. If we can create some PSR flexibility, I would love to think Mitchell would find us some great players within his network of contacts. I’m curious to know who you’d sell?
