Changed manager since then, new manager wanted to keep him

We should still have moved before the change of manager though, I don't understand why we waited once the deal was agreed with Como.

Heard all this with Isak too

Was just gonna say, mind the la liga commentator or pundit said we’d over paid for him and said he wasn’t very good then after his first season he went on radio Newcastle and doubled down

Only watched bits and pieces of highlight reels. As I don’t think he played at SJP when I went (I was pissed and I can’t remember) and I thought Tomori was the standout defender at the San Siro.

From what I have seen. He is really aggressive at closing the space to the attacker on the half turn. Howe loves this from his CB’s. Botman is great at it and Burn and Schar regularly do it too. Often pushing right up into the other team’s half.

You can get embarrassed doing it, if you get rolled. As Burn and Schar showed a few times last season. But I think it is a risk v reward tactic we go with and it’s great that he seems comfortable doing this already.

Thiaw looks athletic enough and has a big enough frame to bother attackers physically and nick the ball if they’re playing on the turn.

A bonus that he is comfortable on the ball and can play either side and off either foot, too. As we do lack incisive passing from the back 5, at times. Especially from Pope (no shit  ), Tino and Burn.

So has he flown back to Milan from Dublin last night, to then fly back over here from Milan today?

Ryanair flight was only £9, but by the time he wanted to take a carryon it was going to cost us another £40m.

Went Milan to London, London to Milan, Milan to Newcastle.

Fuck the environment.

Genuinely hope he proves him wrong

Having digs at us attracts lots of likes on Twitter at the moment, fans of the sky six enjoying the pile on.

Up to the club and players to prove people like this wrong.

like when that nonce Ballague kept telling everyone we overpaid for Isak

'The Salt Bae effect' - Is Isak worth £60m? - https://www.bbc.com/sport/articles/c4n9gjl0kyko

My God

Balague told BBC Radio 5 Live's Euro Leagues podcast: "What a deal. Everyone is amazed.

"We knew of the interest of Newcastle towards Isak. It makes sense in the way that Eddie Howe wants to run the team. This is a guy that is very fast, drives well with the ball, not the greatest finisher – he only scored six last season – but there is the potential there.

"I’m not sure you pay £60m for a potential player, but in any case it’s one of those. If you’ve got the money, why not?

"I don’t think he is worth that money, but he had a buyout clause. Of course Isak trebles his wages, so there wasn’t going to be any doubt from him."

Kristof Terreur added: "It’s what I call the Salt Bae effect.

"Everyone knows the famous chef who puts the salt on the steaks. He has a restaurant in Turkey where you can eat the same steak for 50 euros or for 60 euros, but in London you pay 900 euros.

"The Premier League is the same. You pay 60m euros for a player that another team might have paid 25m for in Europe."

I'm convinced he's going to do well purely based on what our latest Milan friend said.

Has all the physical tools but lacks concentration and needs a leader alongside him. Italy historically has been significantly more tactical and mental (I assume that's still the case?) and he should be able to leverage the physical tools a lot more in England.

A lot of the time players are dependent on their environment, there's the outliers that do well regardless of where they go but most footballers need to be in the right place at the right time.

I haven't seen anything but I find it hard to believe a team that won a trophy and qualified for the CL would have leadership issues. Based on the interviews I've seen regarding Isak the manager is very obviously a leader so that part shouldn't be a problem.

Probably more so he can get his things from Milan and not need to leave Newcastle after the medical and signing takes place.
