If people are in a massive rush to broadcast an OTT opinion, giving no allowance for our scouting and coaching, and the fact players settle and thrive differently in different places...

Those same people can't be touchy when it's pointed out to them months later that their opinion was OTT at best and just absolute bollocks at worst. Can't have it both ways.

it’s great he’s looking class but it wasn’t that long ago and that hard to find some of people in this very thread were blaming him for losing his man for Liverpool winner on his debut.

it’s a fickle old game

Is it Eddie who mostly coaches the defensive side of things and Mad Dog and Graeme Jones who do the attacking coaching? Whoever coaches our centre backs does a fucking cracking job, think of the improvements in Schar, Burn, Botman, and Lascelles, and now Thiaw has come in and looked great. Even Krafth, when he's had to play centre back due to injuries, has looked good there

Opposite. EH the forwards. JT defenders. GJ supports both.

10th best signing of the window according to the Athletic.

What's the rest of the list? If he carries on the way he is then he will go further up that list, he has been so impressive.

I am assuming the likes of Reijnders, Zubimendi, Grealish and Roefs are ahead of him for now.

What we’re saying now: Not yet played this season, although that’s his own fault as he could have played for Brentford before deadline day if he hadn’t made it abundantly clear he wanted out. Anyway, now sidelined with a knee injury.

What we’re saying now: With no pre-season to speak of, it’s only now that Isak is getting up to speed fitness-wise. Impossible to judge him properly before then.

Spot the difference.

Longstaff is number 5

Longstaff is (unsurprisingly imo) thriving in that Leeds team. He ran the show against Bournemouth but all accounts; goal, assist, loads of tackles, covered every blade of grass. He was a pain in the arse against us too. Injured his replacement.

It's always been the case that if he started as near to 38 games as possible he'd be an asset for most sides; including us. Play him as an impact sub or a bit-part player and he's next to useless, because he's every inch a confidence player and needs at least 90 continuous minutes to get sharp.

I didn’t say the thing you’re quoting me as saying. Odd. I agree with you.

I think Leeds style of play suits him as well tbf. Would he be as effective playing for Arsenal or Liverpool?

Interestingly as good as the hindsight in this thread appears to be in the rate the transfer window thread over 84% voted it a 6 or less. So not overwhelmingly positive on any level

Well that's the point isn't it, everyone was so negative about everything the whole summer

And it all pretty much stemmed from Isak refusing to play

Yeah was a tense summer

Isak "can become one of the worlds best, now he's at Anfield."

I've seen enough... 🤢

No accounting for the fact he already was one of the world’s best and now he’s gone backwards. Great writing hacks

Doesn't fit the narrative...

Said list also says, fairly, it's hard to judge Isak based on him having no preseason.

But Wissa is criticised because he COULD have played for Brentford if he hadn't gone on strike... 🙃
