Will Osula

Recommended Posts

When he came on, I knew it was done. Saw enough against Leeds to know this guy is never going to be good enough to lead the line for us. If that offer is there in Jan, we need to take it and get some other raw striker in who could have potential to grow into, as this guy isn't it.

Low cost gamble which is time to say goodbye.

I'm not gonna get on the lads case too much. It speaks volumes that he was brought on at half time for me. Woltemade was being alienated in the fixture owing to the complete lack of energy from all those players who would typically supply him and pivot around him. He's played loads recently too and is fresh to the team, the city and the country.

When Howe seen that lack of energy then Osula was probably the natural protagonist to try and get all their arses into gear. He is very much a rough diamond and is very much under question if he's right for us at this time (I agree), but wasn't any worse than any other player today.

He can potentially play as a wide right forward or RW. He can also play as a CF against a team that’s really stretched. He cannot play against a low block and he can’t hold the ball up or link play. There is a player there but he’s underdeveloped and not very versatile. He’d do best in an Ange team or a Nuno team

Exactly....Osula was just as bad as everybody else. Paqueta bossed the midfield and their defenders got tight and quick on Woltemade. Big fan of Pope but why didn't he catch that cross.....baffling. Horrible performance and result. Anyhoo onwards and upwards....Champions League Wednesday!

should have been used for 10 - 15 mins in games last season to aid his development in games we had sewn up. To be giving the lad grief after essentially having a season on the bench is harsh.

He may not be anywhere near the finished article but we havent helped him get there in a number of ways. If he wasnt ready he should have been out on loan learning

No, hes 22 and not even been on the pitch 100 times let alone converting that to starts at a high level. Hes drastically short and we havent helped that. Giving the lad stick when some of it is our fault is not fair

Echoes of what happened to Elliott Anderson in some ways.

Back in the Danish NT squad for the last WC qualifiers.

Both Dolberg and Biereth are injured so he might get his debut. Højlund will start for Denmark, but wor Willie could be ahead of Wind in the pecking order.

Hopefully just a precaution with wissa still awol and possibly Gordon (the Howe striker option not many supporters choice) potentially injured we need a player to give big nick some form of break as the games continue to come thick and fast.

I do hope he doesn't go in January as the rumours suggest. Really like his energy when he is on the pitch, and undoubtedly seems to be a great character in and amongst the squad. If he does go - would much prefer it to be a loan and not full sale
