Yes I meant if they needed a new RW, I dont think they would go after Elanga.

They're also not in a position where they probably only have around £100-120m needed to strengthen 3 key positions just to stand still as a top 5 team tbf. The Mbeumos take too much out of the budget, another Minteh-esque signing is too much of a gamble and not what we need at this time. The likes of Elanga & Trafford are pretty much in the sweet spot of what we can afford and would improve our starting XI and also have the potential to be those £60-70m players we can't yet afford.

Also need some money for a top CB as well as padding out the squad.

Makes me think if Elanga really was a player we liked, we should have done more with the Anderson bait last year. We did need the 35m of course but we could have even over paid after July, the Vlach+Guehi money. So Forest offer 35m and have a gentleman's a agreement that we would offer 60m for Elanga. Both of us would have overpaid but it's all acceptable. Better than the 20m wasted on Oddy

Seems that way 👍🏻

Out of interest between the 4 who would you all want?

1.AE

2.JB

3.KA

4.MK

Definitely seems like we're putting those other options out there with an ulterior motive. Bakayoko is more of a project than a hit-the-ground-running signing, Kudus is likely to cost as much as Elanga and Adeyemi apparently doesn't do the kind of off the ball work Eddie would demand (although does seem an exciting player creatively tbf)

Can’t see this happening if it’s the likely 60m+ it would take (the addons included in that sum).

Do people think he’s worth that? I’m sure they would want realistic add ons too. If they are willing to sell at all.

For around 45m  I’d be ok with it. IF we get someone like JP or similar.

45-50m for Elanga is fine. I think Kudus is a 50-60m player. Bakayoko has so much to prove he's a 25-35m player. Adeymi is a 35-45m player to me.

How much of an upgrade is Elanga over Murphy? Or is it a case of another player competing for that right wing position?

Significant in my opinion, younger, already better, more versatile, faster, two-footed, not completely useless in early build up play

Adeymi is not what we need at all from what I've seen. All pace and very little else.

Been impressed with his defensive contributions the (few) times I’ve seen him.

Also seems to have the talent Howe could cook with. Think he’d turn into a Gordon equivalent on RW for us

What happened to good old fashioned transfer requests?

If Elanga knocked on their door and says he wants the move and is willing to give up his loyalty bonus that puts them in a very tricky situation.

I think Elanga would be a great signing, despite not being this mythical technical superstar that apparently we should be signing.

I think he’d be a great signing too and particularly away from home. I might be wrong I don’t see him as the type of player who can unlock a right defence at home but they’ve clearly done their homework on him so 👍

How high in regards do you think he is to our star players, Bruno, Isak, Tonali etc? Is he the sort of player to get them excited playing alongside?

I think Elanga is worth £55m in todays market - 23, can strike the ball with both feet and in Eddie's team he would be a pressing monster and that's without the link to Isak being mentioned. IMHO :D

I reckon Kudos is similar as well, chuffed to see we are going for players that massively improve our squad

No, I wouldn’t say he’s that type of player, however, he could become a very lethal player who’s ultimately got a simple game. He needs someone to feed him the ball to run onto though, we won’t succeed building slowly with him, we’d need to break at pace and feed him the ball early. Against low blocks I don’t think he can be a big success unless we add a very creative technical 10

Similar player to Elanga to be fair.

He’s a worse version imo; poster boy for no brain but he run fast. In fact, I’m pretty sure he’s the player some people on here think Elanga is.

A younger & more consistent version of Murphy would improve us big time. His numbers weren't too bad, and his main target is changing from Wood to Isak. I think he'd do great for us.

Aye. I rate Elanga higher for sure.
