Echo the sentiments re Howe. He and his team have turned worse players than Elanga into fantastic players. Imagine they will have the lad tearing it up by Jan.

Or us tearing up in Jan

If were launching £50M at Eleange type players we must have more to spend than I thought

Now compare their premier league numbers when Murphy was 23 years old. If we're after Elanga, it's because we feel his ceiling is lot higher than we currently have.

The questions about his price are fair enough, but I doubt you're going to get a winger with that kind of output for much less.

Potentially fair, and this may be what Eddie's thinking too.

Good shot accuracy. He’s get more chances with us which might lead to a significant uplift in goals.

You don’t think a winger or creative player will perform better in the PL than Elanga bought for less than £50m?

I'd be buzzing if we got Elanga, I dont think he's worth over 40m but, saying that,  his assists speak for themselves, without looking into his stats you'd assume Chris Woods miraculous goal tally would have been down to a lot of Elangas work and goal/attacking contributions.

His 6 goals are similar stats to most wide players, however, you'll imagine Eddie Howe will raise his game and his goals.

I just look at that season Miggy had under Howe, and if Howe could get such levels out of Miggy and now similar from Jacob Murphy, then he'll easily make a stronger winger out of Elanga.

What I'm saying is that he has back-to-back seasons of 14+ goal contributions at the highest level. That kind of pedigree won't come cheap, we'd have to be prepared to gamble.

Even some of the other names mentioned in here Dibling, Semenyo, Akliouche, Gittens, etc. You're looking at circa £45 million+ and some of those names are arguably a poorer fit or are more rough around the edges.

More goals and assists than Gordon last season and Forest fans seems gutted he could be on the move .

I would assume they’re gutted because Elanga is basically their most important player because of their style of play.

I wonder if we could get Amad for a lesser fee, him being a left footer on the right is something Howe would love. Also can play in a 10 position which we lack.

I’d be happy with either, both very talented wing players and weakening rivals.

I find it astonishing how many on here put so little importance to players having good technical ability and awareness and just the quality in general play tbh. If he can run fast and deliver a ball then that’s enough. It’s more or less what Murphy does, although he is not as rapid.

If we sign Elanga it means we have put close to £150m on three wide players and still we are lacking in creativity, ball retention, unpredictability, 1v1 and so on. To me it’s obvious that we need to raise the technical know how overall in this team. Have more different tools and variety to our game. It doesn’t mean that “intensity won’t be our identity”

Just an underwhelming signing. For the price I'd expect a lot more than Elanga.

Do our scouting team just sit at home watching MOTD reruns or something?

Who would you rather? This sometimes translates to: I want us to take a punt on a foreign player I’ve never seen play.
