he’s been shite like but it does my head in that he makes a mistake and the crowd are immediately on his back like nothing else. When he proceeds to make more mistakes it’s hardly a surprise.

We should only play him away from home tbh

We've very quickly slid into unbearable territory.

How much time does a cunt need to settle in. We’d be lucky to get 10m for him on current form and even at that I think we should cash in.

Awful player.

Further evidence that the term "Premier League proven" means nothing if they come from a team which play different and have different expectations.

Even in an optimistic sense, where he actually turns up once a month with a goal or assist, we’ll be left watching him for the remaining 3 weeks play like he has to date.

This cannot work. He can’t work here imho. It’s already verging on cruel watching him try. Like watching a friendly dolphin go for a swim on the beach.

Feels like the earliest a massive money signing has had their career written off at NUFC but I think it’s over for him here tbh. I can’t see a way back from this.

Everyone has seen the worst of him and will be waiting for his every fuck up.

The club need to jettison him asap before his value completely plummets.

Just redeploy him in a new position, it worked for Joelinton who at the time was considered an absolutely massive waste of massive lowey and an absolutely dogshit striker

We soon forgot about how utterly shite and expensive he was was as a striker when he became the midfield cyborg destroyer we now know and love

In Eddie we trust

What was very encouraging tonight was that after a relatively positive start off the bench, his first misstep was greeted with audible dissent from the crowd. Only a matter of time before he's getting booed.

Very well said. I hope this Howe insistence on Pl proven player ends with this elanga signing and we do much better in the transfer window in future.

There may still be a decent player somewhere in elanga but he doesn't seem to suit us.

Didn’t even make a mistake at one point, passed the ball back and everyone lost their minds. Fucking pathetic.

Elanga, Wissa, Ramsey. 3 expensive signings that have not improved us in the slightest.

Just hope we change the way we operate in the summer. That Suggs or whatever they call him, hopefully his work aims towards using a more data driven recruitment style.

Ramsey was decent today - thought he had his best game for us tonight

Aye he was decent - he was on Saturday as well in fairness.

For the money you pay though you expect someone to improve us more. Seemed like an opportunistic signing more than anything.

Yep. Thiaw, Woltemade, Bruno, Botman, Isak and Tonali weren't PL proven when we signed them, even Hall and Tino weren't really what you would deem 'PL proven players'. Good players whose profile fit the way the team plays will serve you well no matter where they're from.

We need to be more creative with our recruitment, we won't be able to shell out 40-50m on squad filler from fellow PL clubs because they "know the league" for much longer
