I’m still at a loss as to how giving the kid stick at the game helps, like.  It’s always annoyed me - save it for the bar after the match.

We’re doing the job of the opposition fans for them.

Intimidating our own player with negativity, jeers and criticism.

But the daft cunts in the ground haven’t figured that out.

I hope he leaves and does a Chris Wood and excels at a new club. Maybe the fucking dippits in the ground might realise that there’s a trend, although I doubt it.

For the first time...I heard the crowd audibly groan and moan at him, yesterday. I believe it's been going on a while. And of course...it's not on. We need to do better.

However, he has to play his part. He's a professional at the top of the game. If he's so fragile that the idiots booing him can ruin him...what the hell's he doing at this level? There's no daft excuses for how far his form has dropped. It's a him problem. The crowd didn't start moaning from the off. He's been consistently awful, and they've gradually turned.

TL;DR: Crowd should definitely be more supportive, but let's not make out his poor form is their fault. The moaning is his fault.

On a human level, I do sympathise with him, he seems like a really nice guy and it must be awful to start a new job filled with such promise only for it to go arse over tit in a short space of time especially when it's being played out in the public eye.

But in football terms, we just spent a lot of money to bring him here and we're paying him a fortune to be the answer to our RW dilemma and within a few short months he's already been usurped by Jacob Murphy and most fans are even wondering if he's an upgrade on Almiron!

He's been an objectively appalling signing, for everyone's sakes we should cut our losses at the first opportunity

He seems like such a nice character. Wonder if he’d have hit the ground running had Isak been here

I'm getting worried about the deal now, his technical ability on the ball looks so poor.

Aye, it's a massive concern. He looks more like a potential impact player than an upgrade.

55m Elanga vs 65m Semenyo

If me nanna had bollocks she'd be me cousin

Plenty players moved for bigger money than Elanga and are doing shite. Isak for £130m looks like the worst signing in history, for example.

Chelsea paid £90m for Mudryk a couple of seasons ago and he's been shite, has now been suspended for over a year and is then likely to be banned for being on gear.

Yadda, yadda, yadda.

I'm pretty relaxed about it.

I've seen plenty of employees of this club who didn't care and didn't bother to pretend otherwise. Elanga isn't one of those and he'll have my full support while that remains the case.

He's struggling at the moment and I do feel a bit sorry for him. I don't think his time here has been as exclusively bad as is made out, but he's in a rut now and he'll need the support of his colleagues and fans to find his feet.

We've seen Howe get a tune out of far worse players. I know nothing is going right for him at the moment, but his touch, crossing, finishing and confidence in himself have been pretty consistent for Forest for around two years, he's got it in his locker.

It's shite that he hasn't hit the ground running, but he needs an arm round him rather than kicking when he's down.

Didn't make sense to me, we didn't need another Gordon we needed someone with nous with a skillset more akin to Isco/Grealish or to go to our history more of a Solano not a Gillespie imo.

What were the options at the time? The signing when it was made made sense off the back of his last season at Forest.

We were linked to Akliouche, presumably he was an option. I thought we needed a different profile to Elanga.

Have to say, I came away last night a little ashamed of the grief he gets. One of my mates is relentlessly negative about him the minutes he steps out on the pitch and it depresses the life out of me to be honest. Never been a believer of abusing our own players. I get people are in the emotional throws of match and sometimes it just comes out as your up and down as it were but I just don't get it at all and never have.

How do you know he's trying his best though? Most of my frustration isn't aimed at him, he doesn't pick himself, it's aimed at Eddie for chasing the useless cunt for 2 years.

If Eddie puts him on the pitch I trust that Eddie thinks he’s trained well enough and will put a shift in. Unless I have evidence of the contrary. On that basis Elanga needs to be supported.

I’ve said many times here. This is an Antony like transfer that should lead to a change in transfer policy. But the transfer itself is spilled milk and we have to make the best we can of it.

This is it.  He had one great moment early and I thought ‘here we go’. But then he played a poor ball to Tonali and the crowd was irked.  He didn’t do anything else positive.  He’s playing awfully aye.  But if the crowd get on to him at every turn there’s no hope for him at all.

I don’t think he’s ever going to be the answer. But the lad does have some qualities. Unless Forest break us even on PSR, we are stuck with him.  So we need to find a way to Jacob Murphy him.

It's just not possible for him to be as bad as he has shown for us. His confidence is clearly shot to bits and he probably needs to be playing in the away games to build it back up, as the amount of pissing and moaning he gets from people in the home games can't be helping at all.

I feel like our general lack of technical quality is really compounding at the moment. One player will play a pass bouncing at knee height, the receiver won't be able to control it first time, they'll have to help it on aimlessly or head it, the next person will have a much more difficult time controlling it etc. Of course Man City pressed us well.

If you compare how Man City keep the ball glued to the carpet it's silly.

Not that this excuses Elanga's shite play but it's making it harder for everyone to play neat and tidy. Only exceptional technicians like Hall can rise above it.

Aye the fans do seem desperate for him to make a mistake so they can sigh, but at the end of the day he’s a £55m ([emoji38]) player and has shown absolutely nothing in 7 months to suggest he’s been anything but a massive waste of money.

Concerning we were trying for him for 2 windows tbh, and don’t get me started on someone sanctioning £50m + bid for JSL. That person needs peddled yesterday.

Hopefully Wilson and this Sudds can help us in the market and change to a more data driven recruitment policy.

We really needed a signing to bolster our squad and we were being gazumped left right and centre, so we signed a good player from Forest on the grounds he'd been good at Forest.

He comes into our team and he isn't able to slot straight in due to the different nature of our play.

Eddie has said so many times that we haven't been able to train as we would like due to number of matches, so I would like to think it's fair to say that if he had come in during a non-European season he would stand a better chance with us.

I have faith he'll come good.
