Thought we could do with a left-footed winger originally, but I like the balance of having Gordon & Barnes on the left cutting inside, and Elanga & Murphy on the other side being able to get to the byline.

The problem with right footer on the right is that our FB is also right footer and at least in Trippier’s case one who likes to stay on the touchline. Then that means Elanga will be in the half space (Iirc that is the right term in English)

I have no doubt he can, but it is something usually more suited to left footer. For example Murphy doesnt do it very well.

Livramento is someone who can come inside though.

Elanga is two footed though, so he can go outside or inside.

No love for the sanga song?

His name's Elanga

He digs The Stranglers

He loves a Fanta

And a sausage sanga

Nope.....none whatsoever.

Probably doesn't dig The Stranglers or Fanta and no one calls it a sanga.

I know the Tonali song is similar but at least there's an Italian link with those things.

Heathen.  Who doesn't like a sausage sandwich and a Fanta?

Well seems I guessed right last Tuesday with £52m getting it done. Does the reality of getting him, rather than the thought of amount,  feel better @Chicken Dancer?

I’m glad it’s done. If Howe wants him - which he clearly does - then he deserves to be backed. I think talk of £60m was ludicrous, but then what’s £8m these days?

Fair enough, I’m definitely with the trust Howe approach. Which, controversially it seems, I’d stretch to Calvert-Lewin. £8m less outlay might make a critical difference in terms of possible other signings now or January.

Not that it matters too much (due to how much they waste) but how much are Man U going to profit out of this? Seen 15% of profit mentioned.

Yeah, 15% of profit is what I heard too

Nah I totally get you. I remember not being too sure on Gordon, who despite a slower season last year has been worth every penny (and more).

If Howe thinks he can move the needle I trust him, I think I’m mentally still stuck in the age where £60m gets you a world class player. A bit like me old man when the pints go up 10p in the new year in the club. Absolute uproar.

Almost certainly 20% of the profit.

So about £8m, which is more than what I thought Elanga was worth two years ago.

Don’t spend it all at once.
