I’m pretty sure Sesko would have done well here. Almost every player that signs for Man U these days wilts. Their fans and ex-managers love to harp about how close they were to signing the likes of Haaland and Bellingham while we all know they’d be on loan at Oldham at present if they did.

West Ham say "£40 million?  You must be joking!"

He had just scored 14 goals in his first season in the prem.

They kept hold of him after already losing key players and he’s gone to shit, along with the rest of them.

Not a gamble that has paid off. As his value is going down with every game. Not that he was ever worth £60m plus in the first place.

Well this season isn't, but it can still be rescued. But overall since the owners came in it is going well yes.

Maybe 2 misses in all these windows and people react this way. Mad.

Meanwhile you could feasibly argue that 5 signings in that period would make it into our all-time 11.

Hopefully as per Hopkinsons 100 day review of the club he has decided to appoint a new recruitment team. A recruitment team that has never signed a flop and can guarantee that they never will.

I’d say in the last 24-36 months it’s obviously deteriorated, and people mostly overrate how well it’s gone. Since 21/22 our net is ~5th in the league.

We've won a cup and qualified for the CL.

He's only 23, which I assume everybody (myself included) forgets - I think he will come on massively later this season/early next with a full preseason under his belt.

I don't need to tell anybody here that he has the raw potential, the crosses have been added to his game, he has used his pace to recover the ball a few times too.

Hopefully, finally, 2026 is the year we finally get rid of him

An abstraction that conflates many things. Eddie Howe has done a marvelous job; the recruitment has got shit.

I don't rate Johnson very highly but 33 seems quite cheap in today's market for someone with his numbers. 55 for Elanga didn't seem mental to me but clearly looks like an overpay at this point given his limited technical ability.

Brennan Johnson got sold for £33M despite being not very good and still scoring 16 last season.

Shows how much we overpaid for Elanga like.

Isak got sold for £130m, a price that felt low to fans of NUFC. He’s been utter dogshit
