Fulham was pretty shit, probably worse than this as a game, but this half is turbo shit.

Fulham was bad, just as loads of away games have been, but at home you'd expect some kind of fight back from us. I'm absolutely baffled at how little we did to change the result in the second half.

This was definitely Howe's worst game IMO. It almost sounds like a hyperbolic criticism but that second half was Bruce-esque, in the sense that the only strategy seemed to be to throw on more attackers and hope something changes.

Pretty dismal display and yet another reminder that if you don't score, you don't win.  We had enough chances in that game to win two games but couldn't finish.

Too many players had an off game and the lineup that's worked for us in the last few games with Willock & Joe on the left with Gordon on the right was abandoned for no good reason with predictable results.  No idea what the thinking was in bringing Murphy on unless Howe wanted to switch to wingbacks.

Sigh, really painful watch. Thought we were really good in the first half tbh, just let down by a dire goal to concede. Five minutes into the second half and it still felt like a matter of time before we scored and potentially turned it around...

Second goal killed us dead. The wind was totally knocked out of the players' sails, at which point they're looking to the manager for impetus. Sadly he got every single tweak wrong and by the end we looked extremely desperate.

Should've had a penalty mind.

I'm always cautious to question desire and attitude, it's being bereft of ideas that agitates me and fuck were we lacking

Some players know that they won’t be there is we manage to get some PSR breathing space, and they play like they have given up and are happy to see their contract out.

Out of everyone we have in our squad who we wouldn’t sell, I don’t think any Premier League team would touch them, and no Championship team, or team in Europe/MLS could afford their wages.

Dropping points to Fulham, West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton is just fkn unforgivable. We look mid-table at best but really shouldn't with the squad we have. Not sure why we keep going back to performances like these. We're going backwards never mind standing still.

Were they really? You must have been watching a different game to me.

Up until their 2nd they were letting us in their box constantly. They're too slow on the break and were barely a threat until Wan-Bissaka morphed into Cancelo.

Sometimes there are matches that really rattle your understanding of football and as soon as it went to 2-0 this was definitely one of them.

But it's quite simple when you think about it, we blew our load early and made nothing count against a Premier League team. You do that and you're running a huge risk, particularly when someone in your back 4 has an absolute stinker.

They went 2 nil up, any confidence we had evaporated, while their's solidified. Then we took off Joelinton, imo the main player holding us together. Really poor, West Ham offered very, very little until their breakaway second, but completely controlled the game after that.

Have to admit that I'm worried about our finishing and the repercussions of how poor it is now. You can't waste that many chances, keep expecting the chances to come, and for the opposition to not take their's.

Our own worst enemy to an insane level, with the same guilty parties, just as we were against Everton and Brighton.

Pope: 6.5

Livramento: 7

Schär: 5

Kelly: 3.5

Hall: 7

Longstaff: 5 Tonali: 5

Bruno: 5.5

Willock: 6.5

Joelinton: 7.5

Isak: 4.5

Gordon: 4.5 Barnes: 5

Also, the atmosphere was shit, expected big things under the lights. Bet it is completely different a week on Wednesday

Thought the lengthy "EH's Black and White Army" chants in that second half sh*t-show were impressively stoic myself.

Basically exactly what I thought watching it.

Did we?! Thought we created fuck all personally...

It's yet more evidence that we're just midtabley as fuck this season; doesn't look like we're going to be capable of building consistency like we did in 22/23.

All about the cups this year imo.

Absolutely, can't believe that decision

Thought that was Brunos worst game for us from what I can remember. I know he was limping a bit in the second half, but even before that he had a stinker.

That pass to Isak should have led to a goal. Changes the game that. Otherwise spot on though. He doesn't look the same Bruno and hasn't for a while.

We are midtable ffs - we finished 7th.  Those teams will finish in and around us this year like last year.  Its hardly a giant killing to drop points to a team you finished five points ahead of or whatever it was a few month ago.

The Barnes sub became pointless as soon as we went to 4-4-2.

the Murphy sub became pointless as soon as Murphy came on
