Depending on your out look it's either a must win to keep us in contention for Champions League, or a must win the keep us clear of Leicester

If we get the ball down and play the famous Newcastle way, we’ll do these deluded lot 😀

Great going forward but inevitably shoot ourselves in the foot and totally capitulate?

Got a group of in-laws in the group chat who are Liverpool “fans.” Gonna be hell on in there during the match

I live with one, so it's gonna be fun in the house 🙈😂

If we do build on it. Then fine. But we’ve shown time and again we can play against teams that give us space to run into and tend to raise it for the big boys when we’re on TV.

What happens tonight is almost irrelevant, to me (I’m sure I’ll be sayinf this later :lol:It’s a bit of a free hit and I also think there will be large chunks of the game where we look decent.

The next 3 games after this will tell us more about the season and if Howe can start to get a tune out of the current squad. As it’s been more of a David Guetta Kiss FM remix sort of tune this season, as opposed to a Beethoven symphony.

Feel after Arsenal game, was when we went through this.

Followed it up with an iffy first half against Forest, but then clicked 2nd and won. International break, then a pathetic display 2nd half against West Ham after being wasteful, and whatever that shit which was served up against Palace where we had one shot but still nearly won :D

Like we could win tonight, then follow up next 3 with 4 points again and it’s same position. So consistently average :)

trying to be optimistic, only a week ago Southampton gave them quite a scare and could've easily won

I hadn't been overly impressed with Liverpool until watching them blow away Real and City, so of course they're coming into this game now in their best form in a couple of years

I still think they're perhaps a bit overrated and will go through a sticky patch

hopefully the crowd can make SJP a bear bit tonight, Gordon can torment TAA and Isak is fit

please just don't lose!

I suspect we'll need a half decent ref tonight to stand any chance and there's not many of those around, especially when the opposition is Liverpool.

Any idea who it is?

Referee: Andy Madley - a first appointment involving Newcastle this season. We last experienced the West Yorkshire whistler in August 2023 when he took charge of our 5-1 PL home victory against Aston Villa.

I want to be optimistic, reality is though Liverpool are currently the best team in Europe right now, we rarely get anything from this fixture plus we failed to score a goal against possibly the worst side in the league right now in West Ham just last week.
