He was very unfortunate. He tried to miss him on 3 separate occasions by moving his legs in Schar’s direction.

Maybe he watches a lot of Indycar? They reckon you should aim for the car spinning ahead of you 'cause by the time you get there it'll be somewhere else.

its the change in direction of the right foot.

would have been easier just to plant it on the turf.

dermot gallagher mentions it but the presenter's having none of it.

nee chance they appeal it.

What is the actual rule?

That's never a penalty at the other end. Accidental handballs with your arm by our side will be disallowed if it goes straight in, but will stand if it was going wide and was deflected in?

Basically, if it hits your arm it's handball if it's one of these situations:

1. Deliberate handball, e.g  hand to ball.

2. Accidental but your arm was in a position that made your body unnaturally bigger. (Basically is your arm position reasonable taking into account your movement) - Judgement call, eg Tino vs PSG

3. Accidental but it goes in off your arm, even if just a tiny brush (what Bruno was penalised for)

4. Accidental and you yourself score immediately after it hits your arm. (Eg Wilson vs Brentford away a year or two ago)

If it hits your arm accidentally someone else can score immediately, (eg Longstaff's goal vs fulham last year here) but you can't score yourself. So in this case, it hit Bruno's arm, so he couldn't score, but someone else could. As it looks as if it would be going wide without the deflection it would be an own goal, so none of the above categories apply.

EDIT: That said, watching the highlights, from another angle I can't actually tell for sure whether it was going in off Bruno or not.

There were people actually arguing that it was a correct decision to give him a yellow. Morgan should join Brereton Diaz in the failed cunt brigade. They could use VAR for good by dishing out reds to those who simulate like that.

That's Brereton Diaz-level shithousery.

I think there was more commentary on Schär and the "dark arts" than on Rogers'  simulation.

"Oh, look Schär's holding onto his shirt behind his back. Out of sight of the referee. Very clever..."

Edit: see that Skeletor beat me out on bringing up that Southampton bastard. (Schär must drive opponents out of their minds.)

They should to get the ban extended.

Makes Schars at the start of the season even more laughable.
