Heron
He's right though. He can say that with little repercusison because it's not his team. He's landing it squarely at the players door and to some degree is right to do so. I genuinely believe those at Man United think they've made it because they're ar Man United when really, they've made it when they win things at Man United. Now January is here - you'd expect some significant transfer movement I think. Mind - if he cannot make the moves he wants in this window he's shooting himself in the foot a bit... I asked two Man United fans of they were worried about relegation last night. Was glorious. Edited December 31, 2024 by Heron
AyeDubbleYoo
I thought Zirkee was like a 35 year-old journeyman nearing retirement with how casual he looks. Couldn’t believe he was a young lad Weird signing though, hasn’t scored a lot of goals anywhere. Edited December 31, 2024 by AyeDubbleYoo

The plan was probably to go at them in first half, win the game and then manage it through. That’s something we're still not great at though, we almost always play ourselfves into trouble when we try to play it safe.

I'd have to watch it back to see if I was being overly sensitive There was a point mid way through the half where we started to take control again, but then rather than keeping the pressure on them we started passing it backwards and sideways between the defense, they pushed out and and it handed the momentum back to them which we never really regained. It was a great win, but on another day they would have taken the chances that presented to them. Then again, on another day we would have been 4 or 5 up by that point. It’s actually quite odd seeing him on the pitch, he doesn’t look like an athlete.

Ed Vinegar
Reflecting on it again, I think we were just reacting to the game state in the way we played and doing it with discipline. While we weren't totally dominant in the second half, I was pretty relaxed while watching. They had a couple of chances but we looked pretty comfortable absorbing what they had to offer without expending too much energy. Some really assured performances last night. Hall looks incredibly good, Tonali was maybe a step behind his Villa performance but still excellent. Isak always looks to me like he could step it up 2 or 3 more levels if he needed to, he just generally doesn't have to. A mate of mine who is a Hearts fan but follows Man U as a second team said that we "didn't even show them the respect of turning up and giving 100% effort" and that sums it up well for me. We did what we needed to - killed the game in 30 minutes and trucked along steadily to the end. Get in!

Likewise, I get what you're saying - I just think Man United need a real shake up of attitude and so I also see why he may not be concerned for ruffling feathers. It's time for those at Man United to stand up and be counted and I think those sort of comments ask questions of individuals' character.
DubblyDubblyDubbly
Stolen from BBC HYS................ When you're at home to the Toon and you go 2-0 doon, that's Amorim When you play 3 at the back and the defence is still slack - that's Amorim You've lost four on the bounce and you're frequently trounced - that's Amorim When Rash's in a mood and you should have kept Ruud.... wyn davies
Thing that annoyed me last night was Isaak not scoring on the one on one does he have a issue, as that's a couple of times he's cocked up

He was class for Bologna last season and contributed massively to them getting Champions League. I was very surprised that Man Utd signed him. It really didn't make sense as a fit. It's since been mentioned that Ashworth recommended him based on the scouting report we had for him at Newcastle. He also had a low release clause. A £34m transfer able to be spread over three seasons. Fairly low risk in this day and age and it satisfied fans who wanted support for Hojlund. Turns out he's not anything close to a #9. He's slick, but hasn't got what it takes for this league.

Yeah, it was a great deal. You'll likely get most of it back from a club in Italy I imagine, he was that good there. You really needed a more seasoned striker ahead of Hojlund that he can rotate in for as he's still so young, and wasn't even starting at Atalanta when you got him. Going to be interesting to see who you go for.

Erikse
3 hours ago, Ronson333 said: Totally agree, there was a 5 minute period in the second half where we calmed the game and kept the ball for 5 mins and they couldn’t get it off us, proved to me we had another gear if we wanted to use it. It definelty looked like our gameplan. The only frustration for me was that there were a couple of times where we went from being in attack to playing the ball all the way back, only to give it away. In the first half we almost conceded that way (Schärs misplaced pass). It happened again in the second half when we were attacking, then played it back to Dubravka who gave it away. That time we had moved our team back and it wasn't that dangerous. Edited December 31, 2024 by Erikse

54
Just watching that first goal back, I can't believe the Man United defence (Namely the Butcher) just let Isak, the most inform striker in the league, have about 5 yards of uncontested space at the edge of the 6 yard box only 3 minutes into the game
