I watch every week.

There's something about watching a Newcastle team limp to a hearty defeat that's like a weird masochistic comfort blanket. I'm always expecting it to arrive at some stage.

 Being in disbelief at the shit on the screen is dead nostalgic tbf.

Disappointing, but we gave chances away against Wolves and Bournemouth were great today and more likely to take advantage. A game we need to move on from and look to bounce back against Southampton.

Majority of the players were below par and they nullified us in attack. We didn't dominate in midfield and defensively were poor with their wingers pushing Hall and Livramento back.

I thought Dubravka made some good saves and would likely keep him in goal when Pope comes back due to his form over the last 10 games.

What I’m annoyed at the most is they do this (play style) every time we play them and we’re none the wiser for it. I didn’t see anything different from us, either, played right into their tactics perfectly and got pasted.

Really poor performance today. But that's without taking anything away from Bournemouth. They completely outplayed us today.

Add to that our passing was atrocious and it all adds up to a heavy defeat.

Let's not dwell on it though. It was a bad day at the office. Everyone has them.

Disagree for me, he could have done better for the second and fourth imo

Hate losing the early game. Not a better feeling to have won and then go on and relax and watch the other games. Don't feel like watching another kick this weekend after that

 Same. My productivity will go up as a result.

Couldn’t deal with their press, our passing was sloppy, slow offensively and defensively. Things for Howe to work on.

Need to get some pace into the centre of defence in the summer as the back line apart from Livramento is slow.

Joelinton for all his fighting qualities lacks finesse, when he had a couple of opportunities to drive forward he couldn't take the ball his stride under pressure and lost the ball plus could have got himself sent off with that tackle.

Hall was pap today and his failure to trap a dropping ball nearly put them in a couple of times. Livra wasn’t much better with loose passes and being bullied off the ball.

Bruno, not a good day at the office, takes too many risks near our goal under pressure.

Isak and Gordon, a lot of huff and puff but no quality.

Dan Burn wayward passes putting us under pressure, Botman gets a bye because of his return from injury but he looked slow and on one occasion nearly tripped over his own feet when he was under pressure. Not sure why the defence didn’t use Dubs like in previous games to escape the press?

Dubs, some of those shots were saveable.

Tonali the only one that can hold his head high.

Today was pretty similar to West Ham, like. Gifted then the initiative in the first half and couldn't climb the mountain we made for ourselves. Today's opponents were just better today so the scoreline is worse.

Had to disappear for a while to chill out...! Chastening defeat but we can't argue with it.

We just have to hope Eddie has another 'meeting' (same after Brentford loss) and it makes us kick on for the next half-dozen or so games.

Southampton away next... points dropped there will be met with angst, I'm sure.

Hard to know what went wrong, other than everything. Eddie must have know they'd come at us like they did. He must also know that a lot of our players aren't press resistant. Could we have slowed the game down and played it at our pace? I'm not sure, they just ran at us in numbers and we have a few players that just can't handle that. The trouble today was that even the players that are more press resistant, played poorly. Think the team let him down personally. All their goals (I turned off before the 4th, thank fuck) were down to us giving the ball away, constantly.

If Newcastle lose, I don't watch any football until the next time we play. I proper take the huff with it.

My next viewing will be next Saturday when we play Southampton.

Mental fatigue, physical fatigue. We’ve played a lot of football in the last few weeks and it caught up.

Bournemouth were the best we’ve played all season. Very well organised and confident on the ball. They were stronger than us and wanted it more.

It was obvious we were losing the game but shipping the two late goals leaves a bad taste. Was so sloppy.

We don’t seem to be able to win games when we aren’t playing well, feast or  famine.

Looking at the lack of options on the bench and how sloppy/tired we looked, im afraid this marked the end of us competing for CL.

Unless we get someone in.

Seeds of that performance were sprouting against Wolves.
I had a tiny thought in the back of my mind that Gordon might go off the boil a bit as soon as Barnes was injured. Shame coz I’d brought Barnes on for both games.

Think we were leggy. If you’re a fraction behind at this level you like mugs.
I honestly think we could learn a thing or 2 off Bournemouth. They’re very very well coached.
Chin up, everyone. We might be having a dip but we’ll bounce back. Got a week to R&R and get some patterns back into our play.

Boss on TNT pointing to fatigue.

If that's true then we shouldn't worry too much as the fixture list eases at least for a little while.

It did look like it to be fair, it wasn't a coincidence that the guy that had 10 months out (without and injury) was the player with the most energy.

Surely it’s nothing like the situation we were in back then.

Looked leggy and were completely outplayed. Our defence, esp. the CHs, looked completely unprepared for press and were lucky to not be caught out before Bruno was. We were lucky to not go two down earlier in the second half, esp. with the out of play goal.

We failed to adjust to a soft referee and should have done more fouling ourselves.

Congrats to Bournemouth who played well and didn't look remotely like a team with many injury issues.

What annoyyed me the most was how weak we were on the ball. Everyone got knocked.off the ball so easily. And our touches today was horrendous. Always stretching for the ball.after the first touch Lose every second ball. Misplaced passes all over the pitch. Overhit ones too.

Just an absolutely horrendous day.

And fuck 12:30 kick offs. Crowd was as dead as the Gallowgate pigeon so fuck off TNT for choosing us in this slot again.

Shouldn’t Bournemouth be sort of similarly fatigued? They looked extremely fresh today though.
