Newcastle United 1-2 Fulham (01/02/25)

Fkn grim today. A painful loss in the semi-final or a heartbreaking defeat in the final. Choices, choices. I'm not a pessimist either, just a realist. I'll be totally different tomorrow and I'll be full of hope. Newcastle just kill you at times. I'm off to get pished.

You can guarantee we won't have any issues getting up for it v Arsenal. It never seems to be an issue v the "bigger" sides.

Yep, players and crowd alike. Neither seemed particularly up for it today really.

I'm not convinced EH would use a squad much. He had options today and there's been players who've looked like they could do with a game or two out but it's the same 11 again.

Clearly he doesn't trust those options to impact the game, he was proven correct if that is the case.

Harrowing result. We've definitely lost our mojo at St James' Park having been so formidable there for years now.

How we responded to the nine game run ending was always going to be a huge test. Bit of a fail so far considering Southampton is basically a gimme.

Wednesday promises to be nice and relaxing.

There’s no tactical plan to change it and no personnel to freshen it. We’re at the stage now where the club owe the fans a bit more than the political guff we hear in every presser about funds.

I can't argue with you there, you're right

Willock was a disgrsce when he came on.

Willock only have 2 modes of play - brilliant or utter garbage.  There's been far too much of the latter recently.

Love JL but if Miley had been playing like him for the past few games he would've dropped for today. Can't imagine either WIllock or Miley would've done worse. But, all coaches have favourites even when it's not working and EH is no exception. We're a streaky team so I hope if we get a result against Arsenal we'll pick up again. But either JL or Bruno need a game or two out. Look knackered and their timing is off.

IMO the ballot has ruined the home atmospheres.

I'm slightly biased as I've won 0/13 ballots I've entered. I don't even bother anymore.

17 failures in a row for me. Yet so many of the a*seholes in there just sit on their hands, waiting to moan.

We'll turn up on Wednesday, absolutely guarantee it.

I've got no concerns about us against the bigger teams at all, we're just absolutely guff against the midtable fodder for some reason.

Could see it coming even at half time when we were 1-0. Played really poor football for 90 mins.

Yes. Disappointed to not see Miley coming on from the off for the second half.

We’re far too easy and predictable to play again now at home. Until we have defenders or a goalkeeper who can pass through the press then we’re screwed against teams like Fulham and Bournemouth.

The first 10 min of second half it looked like we where either completely empty or not interested. Diabolical coming out like that in the 2 half, lost all momentum.

I am raging at the moment, losing to Bournemouth was kind of understandable, but this shit Fulham side is infuriating.

Just got beat by a team that in general is only a rung down from us and happened to be the better team on the day.

Same as how we beat Arsenal twice already.

Hardly cause of inquisitions. Its always been the case that this happens at reasonable intervals and always will be the case.

The squad isn't strong, we cant strengthen it, there's not much we can do to change anything tactically or personnel wise.
