ExiledGeordie
I hope he rotates it a bit to rest a few after last nights effort. Keep some big guns on the bench still in case (Gordon, Isak).
kingxlnc
Burn felt his knee at one point Would defo give him a rest Pope Tino, Krafth and Schar, Targett Longstaff Bruno Miley Osula Wilson Willock Seems like the best starting XI - potentially swap Tino for Trippier as he hasn't played that much to be fair, he could go again. Keep bench options - bring Isak, Gordon, Tonali, Hall and Murphy on at some point in the game. Murphy for Wilson on the 55 min mark Osula for Isak at 80 mins perhaps Gordon for Willock at 73 mins Hall for Miley if needed Could do with Barnes and Lascelles coming back soon - bench really is getting light. Chicken Dancer
I'd be going with a strong team mind. Maybe Wilson in for Isak and going back to a back 4. Willock, Miley or Longstaff in for one of the CBs. Edited February 6 by Chicken Dancer
arnonel
Would love to see Sanusi, Shahar, Finneran et al get some game time Edited February 6 by arnonel

Shays Given Tim Flowers
We have everything necessary to be a very good cup team. I think we will go with a strong squad. Really shouldn't be throwing away opportunities to win something.

KaKa
1 hour ago, Colos Short and Curlies said: Pope Tino Krafth Burn Targett Longstaff Miley Bruno Osula Wilson Willock Absolutely perfect. Would then switch Bruno for Tonali at the half. And also Burn for Schar at the half. So that each of those players only play a half and not the full 90. Shak
Hope we'll see a very strong team, as has been said we have a team who has shown they aren't a pushover for anyone so the goal should be to win this thing. I could see a couple of changes from last night if the staff thinks any of the lads are carrying a knock or are really in need of a rest, but I don't want to see wholesale changes. Team will be buzzing, ride the wave. We've a full week off after this game and then another full week before the next one. Put these tarts to bed in the first half with a strong lineup, then ease off and make changes in the second half.

TheBrownBottle
Cup double still on the agenda. I’m happy to play the reserves in every remaining league match if we go for both cups. I’d give my right bollock for the League Cup - but I’d rip off someone else’s right bollocks and spend years in the nick as a result for an FA Cup
RodneyCisse
Surely give Bruno a rest?
Nobody
Pope Trippier Krafth Botman Targett Longstaff Bruno Willock Osula Wilson Sanusi Or something daft like that.
Checko
Can't see Wilson starting this one as he's only just back from injury. I'm guessing he might be given 30 mins to start building his resiliance up.
Nine
No chance does Howe make wholesale changes for me, it’s an opportunity to progress in another cup and keep the momentum going.
Geogaddi
Surely Birmingham will be making changes as well, the priority for them is getting promoted .
ponsaelius
Was quite surprised to see they played basically first choice XI on Tuesday night in the EFL Trophy - maybe they're prioritising that and the league over this. I think there is a bit of concern from me that we underestimate this. It's effectively a Championship team away from home that's winning every week. A bit like Sheff Wed a few years ago. RoyalBlueProject
Bluenose here in peace. Even with some regulars being omitted, I don’t see anything other than a Newcastle win. Okay, we have had a great season, but the standard in L1 is shocking! The atmosphere will be immense and I hope that we can put in a decent performance, but I think our unbeaten run will end. Anyone travelling by car, please find one of the monitored car parks around the ground. We’ve had loads of incidents of cars being stripped on match days, and even though this must be a lengthy process, the local police seem unable to stop it happening. I’m talking about the whole front end of cars being taken! Stay safe, enjoy the renewed atmosphere and facilities at St Andrews @ KP, and I hope you leave with positive views of the ‘project’. KRO. Lush Vlad
Pope Tino Schar Burn Targett Longstaff Miley Willock Murphy Isak/Osula Gordon Maybe start Tonali or Bruno so we don’t change the whole midfield.
