Only negative is that playing us will feel like slow-motion football compared to PSG. Still, at least they played a long game and lost.

I don’t know. Tuesday to Sunday is a pretty decent recovery time. Wednesday to Saturday and I’d be definitely be thinking it would be a factor.
 

More happy that they’ve suffered a pretty big psychological hit. That would have really hurt last night. Maybe it’ll have a lingering effect, maybe it won’t, but I’d rather that than them having the high of winning the shootout.

I reckon they do. When Gordon did that big interview with Gary Neville in Whitley Bay he said, very matter of factly, "tbh we all thought we'd do it this year." [as in 23/24] I get the impression they fully believe silverware is where they're headed.
