Don't want to piss on your chips but it no longer works that way. The Conference League spot drops into the league if the League Cup winners qualify for CL/EL through league.

It never worked like that in any case.  League Cup runners-up never got a European place - FA Cup runners-up did in certain circumstances.

I actually think the opposite - we always beat Spurs so in a one-off final I bet they'd probably win

Which is why with Liverpool we never beat them in the league, so as a one-off, we defo have more of a chance

Nah. We never beat Liverpool, they never really lose finals. Plus they're arguably the best side in Europe this season. It feels inevitable.

In 2023 we didn't have Isak, in 2023 we didn't have Gordon, in 2023 we didn't have Tonali, the spine of this side walks into any team, Botman, Tonali, Bruno, Gordon, Isak are all match winners. 

 

We're not the same team as the last 3 finals, we've grown, we've learned some harsh lessons, we've got the experience and the scars to show for it, we've got some big game players now. 

 

We owe Liverpool, it's time to cash in.

I am not optimistic tbh. I just don’t see us stopping their big occasion players. However, I think the mentality is different for me. I don’t feel as crazily emotional as 2023. This feels more routine. I was half expecting a win in 2023, so the hope killed me. This time, I think we will put a shift in, but unfortunately I expect a loss, so anything else is a bonus. Apologies for the negativity. I am excited, but I foresee a loss more than I did in 2023. Hope I’m wrong.

I guess we are technically the unbeaten team in this competition. If this rubbish Spurs team could beat them in the first leg then we could beat them in a one-off game. But I still doubt it. Liverpool always turn it on for the big occasions.

We're going in to this with a greatly improved 11, but against a better opponent. We should have beaten them on occasions we haven't. Just got to make sure we're professional in the approach and dont give them an inch.
