Tequila poured. Match replay on right now. Kid in bed asleep. Wife also rewatching with me. Her first rewatch since we got back from London.

And somethings might happen in 9 months time from tonight.

ENJOY THE GAME! :smitten:

Sunday morning, a week ago today, I was filled, not even with trepidation, but with a certainty that, once again, we would get the little rosette for competing, as we have done throughout my supporting life.

Still buzzing.

Probably one for the Little Thing In Life thread but sitting with a cup of coffee, sun shining through the window, dog at your feet, smile on my face happily remembering a week ago.

Still buzzing.

I was heading into town on the Metro. Everyone in Newcastle United colours, even students with accents not from the area.

Getting into town and people were gathering in bars, but the rest of the streets were empty, you just felt that this city was going to explode come the end of the day.

I need to get something off my chest as it's being doing my head in. Micah Richards seems to be seen as a bit of a funny guy and a character, and really it's hard to disagree with that, but I've got to argue I don't think I will ever fully fall in love with the guy. The reasons is because I've always suspected he's one of the blindsided people that use the popular narrative to define their 'expertise'.

I've heard him mock Rob Lee yet I can guarantee he never watched him play or was ever interested in his own success story as mediocre 2nd division player to England and the combative midfield general we call one of the best midfielders that ever played for us. I also heard him say recently that man city need 'investment' to claw back the premier league title, which is the answer id expect from a twelve year old.

But the thing that's irked me the most is his comments to shearer and lineker about the comparison between Newcastle and Liverpool fans last Sunday. I've got to say, I wasn't there. I went to every cup game this season and two years ago but in both circumstances like many fans, was unlucky. But from everyone I've spoke to who went, vocally (as well as on the pitch) we absolutely dominated them. Yet, Mr Richards claimed 'liverpool support was incredible and is always the best, BUT Newcastle matched them'....I'm sorry, I know we won, but I can't stand false credit. YNWA was drowned out three times, I've heard that from about a hundred fans so far that where there, and unless you were watching a faint transmission from mars the TV footage supports this tenfold.

Now one of the reasons that Mr Richards said this instead of relying on his eyes and ears is probably because pre match the 'impartial' media was seen interacting with the Liverpool camp and their 'duty' to support the septic six no matter what the reality is.

I thought our fans were simply incredible, we won the game 2-1, should have been 4-0. But our fans won that by a bigger score, it's a shame Richards is too full of his own ego and top six mentality to realise that.

One man I give huge credit to is Jamie redknapp. Not easy when your team has lost a final, but he actually was able to switch off and give praise where it's due.

Rewatching again. They definitely muted the crowd by the way on the sky sports coverage. Shocking behaviour. Can hear it at times.

I thought that, where they just cut the volume off. Cunts

Watching it back from this vantage point I almost feel sympathy for them being mowed through and looking forlorn after Isak's goal and the stream of attacks before and after and the constant winning of the ball. Like the underdog element that may well have now gone for future finals (god willing) and big games wasn't there.

Didn't watch the last 4-5minutes at the time (veteran of 96) but its almost my favourite part now. Was a million times more uncomfortable the other side of door wondering where the f the full time reaction was

I'm enjoying it TBH, the emotional high was exhausting. Just enjoying a break, watching everything I can about the cup and then get ready for the next game.

Hopefully another injection on the 2nd :indi:
