It made me wonder if two teams have ever faced each at at "100%". There's always something stopping a team doing that, perhaps it never actually happens over the span of a teams cycle.

Man City and Liverpool had some superb games a few years ago when both were right on it.

On the pressing, it is true that Burn and Pope can be pressured, and Schar to a less extent. However it’s also true if you press them really high up, and Burn has to give it to Trippier or Tino in the corners then 10 seconds later Tonali or Bruno can be on the turn with the ball at their feet and that press has left bags of space in behind for Murphy, Barnes and Isak to play with. Undoubtedly a weakness but if teams aren’t careful it can be flipped.

Think Villa will be full of adrenaline early, start fast and then tire, hopefully they ride the early storm.

Great to be involved in games like this late in the season.

A win would be full Vince McMahon gif.

A draw would be amazing.

A loss, well I can take it after such highs of recent. I'm glad the team doesn't have my outlook mind. I can see us being well up for it alongside villa and this being a bit of a classic.

They ran out of steam against PSG at 3-2 I thought, well certainly after Konsa’s missed header. Hope they play their high line

I don’t feel nervous about these games anymore really. It’s a hard game, we could lose, that’s sport. We’ll give it everything and they won’t relish playing us. We also have more than enough games to collect the points we need.

Really hope we beat them obviously.

Proper hard game this one. Villa beat PSG who’s arguably the best team in Europe at the minute and I can imagine exiting the Champions League in such a way isn’t going to affect morale. Their squad is so well balanced now too.

Id be really happy with a point. It’s one of those games that no result would surprise me though.

Kind of the same opinion, it's a glorious chance to sew it up today but it's a really difficult fixture. Hard to know how they'll react to going out of the CL but I think Emery will rotate a bit and it'll be a tough game regardless. I'd absolutely snap your hand off for a point but a loss isn't the end of the world either

Villa have no injuries and squad depth beyond what we've been able to afford. A point would be a very good result. Just don't want to get battered.

Do you honestly think we’re a risk of being battered?

We could be 9 points clear at the top of the league with 2 games to go and expecting us to fuck it somehow is built into a Newcastle fans DNA.
