Performances like today are going to happen in a long run of fixtures because we haven't done anything in the last 3 transfer windows. Villa have kept strengthening and have the options to change things up. You have to keep strengthening the squad. They can't afford to drop the ball this summer.

Absolutely. But we've had a pretty good recent track record so I am not too worried.

Who would you have dropped and who for?

We've been beaten by the better team today. It happens move on. Playing Krafth, Longstaff, Miley won't have changed that

Krafth can cover RB and RCB, Miley, Willock and Longstaff can cover CM, Gordon and Osula can cover the wings?

Like @The Butcher says, whoever is tired give them a rest? We obviously couldn't cover the ground needed as Villa were finding holes all over the pitch.

Disappointing game, basically all the players put in stinkers. I'm already over it to be honest, sometimes you put your hands up and say they where the better team on the day and deserved to win, and we can have no complaints. We've been on a great run, and if you offered me last 6 points and a +6 goal difference swing from the last 3 games i'd have taken it. I'm intrigued to see what the reaction is from the fanbase given this is the first loss since Wembley

One thing this does show is our lack of squad depth, that cost us today, they where noticeably sharper and fresher than us, as they had rested players playing.

There is bugger-all to come from the bench.  Three games in a week at this stage is a massive ask - hopefully that gets corrected in the summer

Not if I knew he was knackered. Would've been more than happy with that.

Said the same during our CL campaign when we played the same team every week and ended with a bad streak. People argued the same way you do.

Anyway. Rotation, or the lack of, is a weak point for Howe/Tindall. Will be interesting to see if they've learned owt from the CL run.

We only had about 11 fit players through the CL campaign as when we tried to rotate in the league we had ridiculous injuries like Barnes vs Sheff Utd or unforeseen gambling bans to our marquee signing

It the histrionics and diving about that really rile me up.

And then when he starts getting wound up for no reason, you just know his performance is going to suffer.

He was absolutely infuriating to watch today.

One reason, he's not a captain.

He's absolutely a leader, but in a different way, fun motivation, cheerleader, not as disciplined as others.

Debatable, and obviously the managers choice, but I preferred Trippier,  that said, Bruno is the first captain to bring a trophy, although it wasn't simply down to Bruno captaining the side.

still in pole position.

beat ipswich and the mood will change.

hope there's not as much panic in the dressing room than there is on this board tonight.

only Pope comes out of that game with any credit.

Why are we playing players who can 'cover' for players in our biggest game of the run in?

You honestly think the result would have been different had we played Longstaff today?

How come you didn't say this before the match?

Canny angry after that like, not going to lie.

..more disappointed - as we just didn't turn up.  Also feel like the result would have been different if Eddie was on the touchline.

It's a question of quantity as well as quality this summer. Gonna have to be very clever in the window and be aggressive targeting free transfers and cheap young players in addition to 2 or 3 quality first team additions.
