Embarrassing optics all round. Eh? The lad is highly rated and the type of signing we need to keep making. We’re going to South Korea to build the brand and our profile around the world. It all helps with future spending and I’m happy that we’re making this sort of effort
ToonAbroad
Spoke to a couple of friends who follow Korean football about him - they don't get the hype on him and clearly see it as a marketing ploy. Hopefully the scouts have seen something else!

southernmag
I don't know much about the guy but this doesn't scream 'elite transfer business' to me. Feels like one of those half-hearted, left-field punts from the Ashley days. What other top clubs did we beat to sign him? Feels like one of those half-hearted, left-field punts from the Ashley days. What other top clubs did we beat to sign him? Bayern Munich for one. I think everyone is a little skeptical of the club right now and I understand why but it seems like we've identified a raw talent that can now be polished. We're going to have be left field if we want to bridge the gap. Maybe we take a few fliers that don't pan out, but Yankubah Minteh was a great example of us spotting a talent, taking a punt, and forcing Brighton to pay 33m on what was a 6m investment. This lad might be Minteh, he might be Haris Vukic. We'll need payers that make it to the first team, we'll need players we buy to sell. I'm happy to welcome and encourage him with a tinge of optimism given he's not our only signing or even a first-team signing. I think we have to be willing to give the club a chance to establish something here. Meeting them with pessimism at every opportunity does nothing to improve us. These are exactly the type of out of nowhere signings Brighton make. They signed caicedo from the equadora.league after 25 appearances and no cunt had a clue who he was. Optimistic Nut
A few big clubs were aware, they just had the earlier path to the first-team.

oldtype
He will more likely than not never play for the first team, as is always the case for this type of signing, but even if he doesn't we will probably get more for him than what we paid for him and that will help us with PSR. Every club who wants to compete has to make this kind of signing in the modern era.
