We shouldn't have went for Isak, Arsenal wanted him, Chelsea wanted Gordon etc. We should just know our place ?

Isak was from abroad, and we don’t know how strong the interest was from Arsenal. Regarding Gordon, people thought we were overpaying. Chelsea had shown an interest the summer before.

The fact we haven’t got any of them this summer shows the targets were wrong anyway. Those clubs have more

to spend this summer too.

They signed a Brazilian last season but he hardly played due to injury. Their fans seem to have high hopes for him.

Agree it seems like a massive risk though.

Shade seems to be really coming good now as well.

So if you go in for someone and don't get them you were wrong to go in for them ? We should only go for players only we are after ?

Personally not convinced by him, but yes, they may think he’s also ready to step up.

We wouldn't approach a player if they hadn't intimidated they would be open to coming here. Personally I don't get the criticism of the club for approaching quality players that would improve our first XI, even if it never payed off. Infact i'd rather us approach quality players first and then pivot, instead of just going for them players from the list below, it shows ambition and is not willing to settle. Something we where all craving for for 15 years.

Having him as a backup striker is transformational imo. Missed out on alot of points last season when Isak was either injured or not really fit to play.

Agreed ran Isak into the ground and offered no real competition either. Did Wilson get a league goal last year?

Going to be honest don't really like this move.  Nothing against Wissa, he's a top player.

Just the age and the asking price being the main reasons, but it also demonstrates we have no trust at all for anyone from other leagues.

Wouldn’t be unhappy with Wissa, prem proven with a good goalscoring record.
Can play backup to Isak and we can rotate the two with plenty of games for both.

If we can complete for a decent fee and it allows us to sign a GK, CB and midfielder I’d be very happy with the window.

We’ve got a good first 11, we need to improve the overall squad now and I’d accept incremental improvement over drastic improvements which we’re struggling to do.

The players that come in need to be offer more than those they replace in terms of availability and ability.

Wissa>Wilson in terms of availability and goals which improves us straight away.

Similar age to when we paid £6m or so for Les Ferdinand. This probably the equivalent of a £4m signing back then.

Think people sometimes don’t realise how expensive any footballer is now.

Like with Elanga, it's not the most inspiring transfer, but if the question is: would the player help us qualify for CL again next year? Then the answer is yes.

In terms of secondary strikers out there, he's right the way up there, if not as the 1st or 2nd best one. Luckily, we have the best striker as well.

Would there be a better ‘back-up’ striker in the league?

Wouldn’t call Marmoush ‘back-up’ as he’ll probably play more often than not.

Nunez? Richarlison? Nketia? Delap? Muniz?

It’s not quite Isak and Ekitike

That prospect was genuinely scary and had me thinking of a title run

this is ok though for ensuring we do not stagnate too much, he’s better than last seasons Wilson. Hopefully he’ll get better with age as he’s more of an intelligent poacher type as opposed to a physical specimen.

RCB, GK, 10 and CM, in that order please.

I don’t mind older moves for now if it helps us get more in except at RCB where we need to reduce age.

Wissa (30)

Scalvini (40)

Maignan (20)

Simons or MGW (60)

Doumbia (20)

I don’t think the 10 is likely but would love to see it. The rest is reasonable though.

Probably not tbf, not since Villa had Watkins and Duran, which proved unsustainable for them.
