Strand Larsen now then if its doable. 35+5 is more than fair for Wissa and it's more than fair for a club in Brentford's position to turn it down, so I think it's impasse time and we should look at someone else.

This deal isn't dead. Both parties are still at the table which suggests this gets done

I don't know, they apparently offered no counter. Which usually suggests the selling club think the offer was miles off. If that's the case this needs to be over.

Have Brentford even looked for a replacement? Don’t recall seeing them be linked with anybody that concrete

They signed Outtara already. But they’re adamant he’s a winger.

and they have Thiago.

They have that thaigo upfront and they’ve just spent about 40m on LW and have carvalho on LW too and Lewis potter on RW. So they have their replacements.

Have we seriously no other strikers we can target?  This is becoming like the Guehi saga all over again

Thanfully Wissa isn't bang average and Brentford aren't asking for 80 million like with the Marc G disaster.

Parish is an imbecile, his price has halved now and he wasn't even good last season. Just cost himself tens of millions for no on-pitch benefit.

But thank god we dodged that bullet, I guess I should be thankful to Mr Parish, priase Steve.

Problems now are that it's clearly a sellers market with only 10 days left of the window. The idea of haggling a fee is a bit far gone now, we either meet their price or it doesn't get done. We wouldn't even dream of haggling over the isak fee and why should Brentford do is any favours? They'll stick to their guns and I don't blame them tbh. Second problem from 'just move on' is who exactly do we move on to? Moving on is fine when there's 6 weeks of the window left but it's starting to get a bit tight. We've all seen how long it takes us to get shit done most of the time, Wissa the supposed to be the formality signing, the one tied up and ready to go as soon as Brentford got one in - clearly not.

The more I think about it the more I think we might just have to bite the bullet and give them what they're asking for. It'll sting but it'll sting a lot more for a lot longer if we don't get a striker. It's definitely an overpay but I honestly think I'd be tempted to just do it at this stage. Get him in and spend the last few days getting one more in on loan to cover, Gordon goes back to LW, Barnes as cover and a proper CF leading the line and a fully functioning unit for the next 24 games until January. For the sake of maybe 10m extra?

Schade also plays LW, scored 11 goals last year. Brentford have attacking options, they're trying to get as much as they can for Wissa. They did the same with Mbeumo.

Or Willock who’s now back training.

Joe will injure himself on the way down there to sign the contract, back sprain after eating a Big Mac too enthusiatically at Northampton service station, out for half the season.
