We need to move on, they clearly feel they can't replace him and would rather risk reintegrating him, and we can't offer up a figure that matches the value of his goals to them. They're in a similar position to us with Isak, except with a team that drops into being relegation quality when you take away his goals.

Time to move on. It’s going to be £50m+ to get it done and there’s no point. Think Watkins can be attainable for that.

Not sure where we go now though. Loan options must be considered?

Watkins is on the downward spiral, I think Villa have realised that they made a mistake keeping him and letting Duran go.

How does this work? News of a bid goes in and then news of its refusal within an hour? Are they doing this on a Teams call with the 2 clubs?

Also Downie, Jacobs, Hope, Crook, Pasta Cunt all announce offer and then Ornstein says its refused. Ornstein didnt say it was in did he? Just seems like a massive fucking ponzi scheme the whole fucking charade.

Why is Watkins on a downward spiral? His goalscoring record is as good as ever.

Its brinkmanship. We will get him. Will just take a touch more.

They don’t really have any reason to sell him before deadline day, is the issue.

The closer it gets to the deadline without us signing a striker, the more desperate we become and more they can squeeze from us.

Hopefully we have several irons in the fire here and it’ll make the potential sellers nervous about trying to get too much from us and losing the deal completely.

I don't even think 45m is dumb money for someone who's scored as many as he did last season.

Hes our only viable option. Get it done.

He is the guaranteed goals. Jackson is the project but also bringing a lot to the team. Would be happy with either (Wissa my first choice) I hope we don’t blink and miss out on both
