Does seem to be a common theme that current PL teams (Forest and Villa are the exception funnily enough :whistle: ) just don't want to sell us (m)any of their players, get the distinct impression that we're a bit of a pariah ourselves within the PL. Recently relegated clubs are happy to sell, clubs on the continent are happy to sell but there's only really Hall, Burn and Wood that I think we've managed to sign from rival PL clubs - could be wrong.

Gentleman's agreement that no-one sells to the Saudis? No favour given? I know it's a bit tin-foil hatty but you pair it with all the rejections and the Guehi shit and the impromptu meeting to change the rules mid-season and it starts to kind of connect a bit? Or am I just massively paranoid? 

 

I never expected us to be popular, not really bothered about being liked but when a collective of clubs are all seemingly acting against you despite sticking to every rule in the book then it starts to play on my mind a bit...

Nah, I think there’s likely something there. Not something explicit but an understanding that the six biggest clubs that have enormous power don’t want us to succeed and a lot of the smaller clubs have cosied up to them so a natural extension is that they won’t want to do business with us in case it damages their relations

I was genuinely concerned Arsenal would go for Wissa to cover Havertz. Then with the lunacy of Spurs offering Richarlison to Palace to make room for Wissa…Eze going to Arsenal probably helps us. Probably. Who knows anymore.

Needless to say I think Wissa would take next to no convincing re a Spurs move. They've got a lot to offer and he'd still be in London. Hilarious if he ends up going there and we're up to - I think - our top five striker targets all transferring to ESL sides, not to mention our own one agitating to join one too.

The article refers to French African players that featured for Newcastle because Wissa is African and was born and raised in France.

 

This is impossibly simple and straightforward, and has nothing to do with his heritage being Congolese.
