It's the same with the Geordie Journo videos, they will have clickbaity titles but they can be 30 mins long. If they don't get to the point then I just switch off and trust the news will come out in a condensed form somewhere else anyway. Mostly I can get it here anyway. Magpie
Congo qualified for the CAF playoffs yesterday, likely to play Cameroon in a one off semi final on 13th November and the winner plays the winner of Gabon and Nigeria to try and qualify for the intercontinental playoffs to be held in March!! They’ll be wanting Wissa if there’s any chance of him being fit.

Yeah I’m going to have a word with my boss. Let’s bring the international football vibe into real life work. He can carry on paying me full pay in the middle of the firm’s busiest part of the year whilst I fuck off to work on my side hustle earning bonus payments and endorsements. I’ll then be off for two months with an injury suffered whilst doing said side hustle. Edited October 15, 2025 by Nucasol

They can piss off if they think he’s going off to join up with them after not playing a single minute for us before next internationals, and if Wissa himself kicks up and wants to go, we have to tell him no. That period after November internationals up to mid Jan is always massive in English game where you either crack on or your season is done. We need him fit and firing, not coming back with a niggle at best.

Imagine we convinced him not to go, then they lost the play off cos another striker missed chances. Obviously, if he’s still not fully fit, that’s different. Even if Wissa doesn’t want to go, if Congo call him up and he declined the call up, they can enforce a period following the international break where he is ineligible for his club. huss9
he moved here as probably his last chance to play for a big club and in the CL. but its also likely his last chance to play in a WC. if he's fit enough, he has to play for his country. I don’t think any player would realistically risk missing out on their one and only World Cup, regardless of how much any club had paid for them. Also, it might not be worst thing for him to try and get and bit of increased match fitness with them (obviously you’d be hoping he isn’t as unlucky as last time). I’ll repeat though, all of the above is completely compromised if he isn’t fully fit by then.

I am sure there have been cases in the past where this scenario has played out to the detriment of the club. Certainly cases where the club have declared him injured but the country has called him up anyway. If he is anywhere near ready to play I would imagine he will be picked and will be happy to go to.
